My Auberge in Erg Chebbi. In the bg is part of the sub Saharan dunes, which are 20 times bigger in area in neighboring Algeria. It was 45c but luckily there was a swimming pool around the back off to the left. The water was perfect, not too hot, not too cold.

Hi Chris,i don't remember if this is the same were i was, i slept in a tent but there were something like that with toilets and restaurant. Beautiful capture with the start of desert dunes in background too. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

I stayed in a place looking similar to this in the Algerian desert. Quite stylish from the outside but extremely hot and stuffy inside at night. I didn't enjoy it. And there was no pool. The dunes provide a fine background here, and the sharpness and light management are very good.

Hello Chris!
Maybe it was this auberge where I spent one night on the rooftop.
You found a good angle and managed a great shot.I like a lot the many different brown/orange tones here.
When I was there in 2000, there was no paved road and electric power came from diesel generators.So after 10 pm it was totally dark and I saw a fantastic night sky with millions of stars.

Hello Chris, there is a nice contrast between the smooth sand of the dunes and the decoration atop the walls of the auberge.
Taken from a good angle we can see the various parts of the building.

A very nice overview of these low buildings, which some appealing details around the edges. The smooth shapes of the sand dunes in the distance are wonderful as well, also in this pleasant sunlight.

Hello Chris,

This looks an unusual place for a holiday, especially experiencing such high temperatures! Were you on a tour, exploring hidden destinations in the Sahara?

The photograph shows excellent clarity, especially of the decorative patterns around the upper parts of the mud brick auberge.

Hello Chris, I like such deserts with big dunes. I saw similar in Iran and Oman. Beautiful view. But 45 C was hot!

That kind of building fits perfectly on this kind of environment. What a place to stay in a desert and quite close to those big dunes. Good light with fairly long shadows.

I probably saw this lodge, it has traditional shapes and can give un an illusion about historial aspects. beautiful view of the dunes ahead. the image made me remember my day there.
