Photographer's Note
Another one from around the souks of Marrakech.
Someone asked about finding your way out after getting lost. When I visited you were aided by the wall around the kasbah enclosing the souks so you just made sure you stayed inside with a not very helpful map and eventually you found your way back to the main areas. Today, of course, you'd probably have a GPS program such as MapsMe on your phone or tablet or you'd just use Google maps.
Today's photo looks along one of the side souks with locals only in the image. The man on the left was happy about his photo being taken but posed very seriously and then broke into a good smile afterwards.
The arch was interesting so as a workshop I've posted a photo of the souk from the other side of the arch.
As always both this and the workshop photo are best viewed in the large version.

Hello Ian,
A very nice impression of daily life with good and vivid colours and some fine details, especially on the left hand side. The arch and its shapes make a very appealing frame as well for the view of the street.

Bonjour, cher ian,

Hi Ian,
That arch pattern above the gate is quite special. This view is full of timeless feeling of Morocco. People coming through the gate are well placed.

Hi Ian.
Again, a fine shot showing us the famous part of the Marocco. Old mixed with new, the hanging mirror gives extra depth reflection, soft pastel colours prevail in the frame.

hello Ian, What to write, these pictures from the souk of Marrakech are all fantastic, I would love to be there, to get lost in these narrow streets, full of colours and the orient atmosphere. Fantastic composition with so many details to admire.

Hello Ian,
Before the arrival of GPS programs you could always ask a local for the directions if you got lost. ;-)
I like the architecture and atmosphere in these photos too. This area is clearly not untouched by tourism but still looks interesting enough.

Gert

Hi Ian
The sort of shot that ought not to work with so much contrast, it captures the atmosphere of the Souks of Marrakech and the figures really add to the shot. Congrats
Best regards

Hello Ian,
Another fascinating image from inside the souk. I like the point of view looking through the archway with its scalloped edges. The shopkeeper does look very stern; good to hear he didn't turn nasty.

Hello Ian,
Missed this one. I like the repeating scalloped patterns of the arches. The blue awning and bag contrast well with the rust red tones. Excellent sharpness and framing with lots to look at. Tfs!
