A BIG EROSION, a photo from Karas, South

Photographer's Note

Fish River Canyon is the second largest canyon in the world. It is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Namibia. When we arrive in the place it was near of the sunset, but the light was against my camera and because this my photos aren't so nice to show how beautiful the place is.

O Canyon do Rio Fish � o segundo maior do mundo e uma das maiores atra鋏es da Nam兊ia. Quando o visitei chegamos pouco antes do entardecer, mas a luz estava contra minha camera, o que fez com que as fotos n縊 ficassem t縊 boas.

Hello Jorge,
at the first sight I thought it was Great Canyon, and got really surprised discovering that the picture has been taken in Namibia actually. Very nice framing and well balanced composition which shows very well the wonder of the nature. Good DOF and sharpness.

J� vira esse C穗ion em outras fotos aqui no TE e sobre ele h� diverg麩cias! Seria o segundo maior em termos de profundidade ou de comprimento? Por exemplo, o Grand Canyon n縊 � o mais profundo, talvez nem o mais comprido, mas � o mais famoso (446 km de comprimento, 29 km de largura m痊ima e 1.800 metros de profundidade m痊ima). O Colca Canyon no Peru � tido como um dos mais profundos (4.160 m de profundidade m痊ima), mas n縊 me lembro se � muito comprido e nem achei nada a respeito! O dois visitei. O Colca impressiona, mas o Grand Canyon � o mais lindo - uma maravilha mesmo!
Apesar da condi鋏es de luz, achei que a foto ficou ima e mostra bem a beleza do lugar!

hello Jorge, splendid view of the Fish River Canyon. It is amazing that it looks so similar to the Grand Canyon. I had the same problems during the sunset there. Maybe better ooption would be to visit it in sunrise? But impressive view anyway. Fascinating place weel presented.

Ola Jorge,
nice the panoramic view of this section of the Fish river canyon,with the ground erosions to are presented so beautiful and unique.
The falling light plays perfect with the shadows making the scene even more effective.

Impresionante paisaje de espectacular belleza, un canyon de gran atraccion con sus irregulares paredes, lo desertico del lugar, le da un encanto especial, tambien este color rojizo de las tierras.

Hi Jorge,
Actually I think backlight works fairly well for showing the shapes of that canyon, showing shadows dark. Background sky is naturally hazy but that's not important. The whole landscape looks totally dry and inhospitable. Even more so that the Grand Canyon.

My dream is to spend 12 hours in this place to take several pictures with differents lights direction; of course with water tanker to support the heat
