Photographer's Note
Continuing on with bright colours, I thought I would post a shot taken in Windhoek on Sunday. My husband was playing in a lawn bowls competition and rather than spend the whole morning by the side of the greens I took a wander to the train station just across the road.
There is a display of old engines and rolling stock outside the station and this strange yellow beast caught my eye. It is, as far as I can make out, a carriage used by railway maintenance teams as a home on wheels. I loved the strange, almost art-deco shape but have no idea when this carriage was produced.

Hello Rosemary,
An unusual beast indeed. The tight framing works well, whilst still allowing us to see the context. Good saturated colours and excellent sharpness. Apt and witty title.

Ciao Rosemary
Ciao e buona serata
Romano

Hi Rosemary
A superb warm versus cold color contrast between the blue sky and the yellow facade of the old engine. Good sharpness and well composed leaving plenty of breathing space right around. Excellent density with punchy light contrasts. Tfs!

Hi Rosemary
This bright yellow railway buggy is a real historical relict. It looks well maintained. Luckily the railway people are displaying what they were storing for decades. Well done
There are so many things of Laos. The population generally is poor and the the small elite is filthy rich. However most are very friendly despite the harsh life. The scenery is impressive, but the infrastructure is a nightmare. Food is very expensive, about double then in Thailand, what is generally nor affordable for the locals. We wanted to go back to Laos in February this year, but then I had this accident and broke my left wrist. I think we will go there in January 2014. Meanwhile I will upload more of my Laos shots and then change to the more current from Malaysia and Thailand.
Warm regards

Hi Rosemary
I am doubly glad for your note, as I could not for the life of me figure out what this was! The yellow is beautifully vivid, and it does look like whoever considers this home from home really has put thought in, windows on the curtains and everything. Very posh!! Beautifully seen shot, and the background building it very appealing too.
All the best

Hi Rosemary!
It's a really great idea to display them in the station, in such good conditions. Most part of the old ones we have here are in ruins.
This one is really unusual, but seems well preserved. I like the eye catching colour and the curtains inside.
A very good composition, light and colours!
