Different reactions, a photo from Tambacounda, East

Photographer's Note

I took this photo in a Peul village, a few kms far from Kedougou. We had spent the night there in tents, and when we got up, the kids of the village came to join us. I believe it's really rare to have tourists sleeping near their houses, so the curiosity was really big and their reactions in front of a camera can be the most unexpected, as we can see here. As far as I remember there was another little girl hiding behind those two, we can see a foot:)!

The Peuls ou Fulas, are one of the largest migratory ethnic groups in the world and they are spread over many African countries, such as Senegal. It was a great experience to visit many of their villages and contact with them, as they are really nice and usually welcome visitors really well.

Ola Ana,
An amazing photo, of a moment superbly collected.
Kids always play with their eyes, especially when strangers around, they are mostly shy and innocent - and you very well conveyed this on photo.
The big girl made some funny fingers crossings that made other girls loughing, yet she looks as no bad gesture meant to pose.
Lovely taken, adorable, and should be awarded.
One best pic. on TE I ever saw.

Hello Ana,
I love this photo of the giggling and shy and totally nonchalant girls. Their very different expressions create such a lively and interesting picture. I love their artistically braided hair as well. I found African women's and girls' hairstyles very fascinating. The grey and green background is very good too.
In case you are interested in football: my congratulations on Portugal's success yesterday in Sweden. I was totally expected, though :-).

I like the expression of the little girl watching at you and the two laughing ones ;)
Even if the texture of the wall is interesting here, i would perhaps have cropped the left part (to remove the weird blue stuff on the ground) and given more space to the right where the fourth girl is looking at

It's so nice to meet some of the people of Senegal through your photos. This is a lovely portrait. The children seem very playful, and I like their colorful clothes. It must have been nice to visit places that most tourists don't see.

queste bambine che in parte si vergognano ed in parte si offrono all'obiettivo con senso di sfida sono un bel quadretto che, se osservato con attenzione sono anche la prova dell'evoluzione dei costumi in questo lembo d'Africa.
Mentre le acconciature sono ancore quelle tradizionali l'abbigliamento appare gi� contaminato dalla presenza di indumenti estranei alle loro tradizioni, ma rimane sempre l'amore per i colori vivaci.
Bella anche la composizione con le bambine che formano un triangolo messo al punto giusto. Straordinaria la nitidezza e la gestione della luce.

Really delightful image, those adorable children who are at ease with the camera but still excited about posing. Love the subject and nice mix of expressions captured here. Great comp, balanced off centre and super viewpoint down to their level. I think the contrast to dark tone of the bg really lifts this shot so superbly and focus are fine too. hi ana. a warm hearted interaction with these kids. they are obviously having fun, a bit shy too. the Wall with green moss is a nice backdrop and it is funny how they spontaneously created a "heroic triangle", mostly found in romantic era paintings.
