Photographer's Note

Most of my pictures from Senegal are just the nothing special ones. I found the Senegalese children cute and the women beautiful and elegant even if very poor.
My friend who was many times in Africam alway takes sweets for children. So this time I took two quite big bags of candies to give away. But our tour guide said it was not a good idea. The children are used to it and then they are begging. Better to buy something from the parents or to give the kids something more nutrient. So I gave these bags to our Senegalese guide and then he gave the candies when we stopped somewhere and the kids came.

Hello Malgo,
Three very cute kids with quite different attitudes to the camera. It's also interesting to see how their dresses are on the threshold between tradition and modern way of life. You found a perfect wall to use as a background, and the soft light was very good for exposure and colours. I don't think I would have found a girl like the tallest on dressed this way in the 1980's.

Three real cuties posing for you and for us.

I completely agree with your tour guide. Handing out sweet turns these sweethearts into beggars. There are many better alternatives. My favourite is still just giving a smile and sharing a joke or two.

Very good portraits of these three children, Senegal's next generation. Their clothes have some bright colours and the girl in the middle has got a beautiful smile, while the other two look more serious. Very well done.
