Photographer's Note
St James Beach is one of the smaller beaches along the False Bay coastline but with its colourful Victorian bathing huts and tidal pool it has a quaintness and charm that makes it a popular destination for Capetonians during the summer.
The hamlet of St James is one of Cape Town痴 smaller suburbs but it has a rich history. Along the Main Road towards Muizenberg there are still a number of beautiful old stone mansions and buildings dating back to the late 1800痴 attesting to its affluent colonial origins. At the time this particular stretch of Main Road was commonly referred to as 溺illionaire痴 Mile.

Hi JP,
This is way better than my own pictures of St James Beach (not posted, for that reason) - my defense is I had a labrador with me that day, and I couldn't get on to the beach for a more frontal PoV.
The emptiness of the beach is rather appealing in your shot - especially on what looks like a lovely day.

Hello JP - These bathing huts make a superb subject. I like the brilliance of the colours against the colours of the natural environment. I haven't been to this area of the Cape for many years but I remember the fabulous mansions you speak of in your note. Another place on my 'to visit' list! Have a good evening and TFS Rosemary

Howzit JP,What a vibrant scene you have captured so well, fantastic colours on these beach huts, like your Pov from the water. Some how to me I associate these type off beach huts with the UK, but look splendid in the sun and Bg, blue sky. Cheers Iain.

Hi there,
I've tried to capture this view before, but alas, unsuccessfully. Yours is gorgeous.
Were you standing in the water?
May I say someting you won't like? I would have PSed the white rock..... OK, pretend I didn't say that :-)

The strong colours of these beach huts make them a reall standout and a hint of reflection in the sea too. Sea, beach and huts all running on strong diagonal lines. Well captured.
