Photographer's Note
The Green Point Lighthouse, often unofficially referred to as the Mouille Point Lighthouse, is the oldest lighthouse in South Africa, having been first lit on 12 April 1824. Its light can be seen 25 sea miles out to sea.
With its distinct, friendly red and white candy stripes it is a well known and popular landmark to Capetonians. At one stage a roadhouse operated from one of the buildings attached to the lighthouse complex, and marauding sea gulls were notorious for swooping down and making off with the freshly made toasted cheese or hamburger of an unwary diner!
The image shows the lighthouse in the setting sun with the suburb of Green Point and Lion痴 Head as its backdrop.

Hello JP ,
A (very) little tilt to the right , but I like a lot this picture . You've perfectly placed the light house at right to open the view on the splendid mountains in the BG . Superb effect of the evening light and excellent sharpness .

Hello JP - Lovely light bouncing off the lighthouse accentuates the candy stripe red and white. Crispness and clarity are fantastic. A fine shot. Warm regards rosemary

Hello JP,
A very distintive lighthouse regarding its unique shape, colors and magnitude. I very much liked how you composed the scene, placing the lighthouse in the FG and showing the city in the mid and the mountain in the BG. So the viewer has a total understanding. I also liked the effect of afternoon light in all over the scene. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes,
Suleyman
