Photographer's Note

As we were driving up north to pay a visit to my girlfriend's parents, we've decided to stop on the way to buy some fruits from one of the numerous vendors along the road.

I had my camera with me, ready to shoot, but was not expecting to see the vendor... sleeping in her wheelbarrow. As I was moving closer to frame her properly, she woke up and smiled, still half in slumber.

what a cool grab photo, completely unexpected, a total surprise - these area often the most rewarding photos, don't you think?

a funny scene, well worth capturing.

Hello Andre,
This doesn't look at all comfortable, but she certainly picked the best spot for a photo session. This is quite amusing, and the straightforward simplicity of the composition makes it a very likeable photo. I love the naturalness and the mild colours. The flames of her little fire are very pretty too.

J'aime beaucoup cette photo color馥 et quelque peu humoristique, avec l'attitude de cette jeune femme qui s'騁ait assoupie dans sa brouette et que tu as visiblement sortie de sa sieste. En la voyant, je ne peux m'emp鹹her de fredonner les paroles de la chanson "Don't worry, be happy" ! La composition est bien 駲uilibr馥, le cadrage bien pens�, avec une bonne disposition des 駘駑ents dans la composition. Une sc鈩e de vie quotidienne fort bien saisie et une belle r饌lisation qui respire la douceur de vivre dans une ambiance africaine.

Hello Andr�,

As our lives seem to become busier and more and more complicated, it's nice to know that there are still people who have not forgotten how to relax. And how happy and content this lady appears to be - despite the fact that she's been interrupted and wakened up by a couple of troublesome travellers! She certainly seems quite comfortable in her wheelbarrow and doesn't seem to be in any rush to sell you any of her fruit.

A superbly well taken photograph and luckily you had your camera at the ready when you stopped here. The light and colours are delightful as is the lady's pose and the image is, as always, technically perfect with spot-on exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.

A fine workshop picture too. I just had to Google "Naartjie" - they sound delicious and it also seems that they are very easy to peel.

Et elle embauche? Ca parait sympa comme philosophie de vie, m麥e si j'aurais plut install� un hamac: la brouette, c'est un peu rude pour dormir.
Encore une fois, le choix du grand angle a permis de bien restituer le contexte et l'environnement.
