Photographer's Note

Amsterdam - Canal Parade 2015.
What can I say - you can't have it all... this year I had a great spot along the canal, great weather, no rain, no idiots pushing me right and left, basically ideal conditions to take pictures... but my God were the boats boring. I saw very few sparks of creativity, few cheeky or irreverent ideas, and very little fun - the rest were the usual dancers, political parties, companies advertising themselves, etc.
I usually don't like to crop my images in post-processing but this year I had to isolate the little bits and pieces of interesting expressions I could catch...
As I was saying - you can't have it all :)

So you're back with your Proud Parade theme. I always like people pictures, and well remember your series from previous years. The monochome is brave, given the amount of colour I imagine was in the shot, but it works very well to create an urban feel. Good expression!

Her pose and expression is so appealing and attractive for me. B&W color touch is very challenging at this case but you did get wonderful output. 180mm (2.8)
is nice lens indeed.

Hello Cristina, It became a tradition that we see your fantastic picture from the Amsterdam parade. Superb photo. I imagine that there are many colours here, but you usually prefere black and white, and it is good also. Splendid work, I am looking forward to seeing more pictures.
