Chenac-Saint-Seurin-d'Uzet is a commune of south-west of France, located on the Gironde Estuary in the department of Charente-Maritime ( Region Nouvelle Aquitaine ). Its inhabitants are called Saint-Chenacais or Surinamese and Chenacaises or St. Surinaises.

It is the result of the merger on 25 February 1965 of two villages separated by about three kilometres: Chenac-sur-Gironde, a village of farmers and wine makers perched on a hill overlooking the Gironde estuary, and Saint-Seurin-d'Uzet, a small fishing port that was once an important production centre for caviar.

It's a beautiful area.
I like how well you have positioned the river in your photograph; it carries us diagonally from the bottom corner to infinity!
Love the details of the boats. They must be a natural form of transport, situated so close to water.
The ambiance of such a place is almost tactile!

The river seems to calmly flow till far as the horizon, Stephen - there it disappearing on the far end.
