Photographer's Note
SEE WS TOO!
HDR style has gone out of fashion, but I couldn't resist applying it to this close-up view of the village that I showed you in my previous post. I also made a larger version in the WS. I hope it is to your liking, for information on Civita di Bagnoregio, the dying city, I refer you to my previous post.

Bonne soir馥.

Ciao Luciano,
Has HDR gone out of fashion? In fact, I have never liked it. Excellent picture but I prefer your previous one. Now it is taken from the same place as my photo. Nice view of the tiny figures of tourists going on the road. The clouds are really impressive.
Best regards MAlgo

Greeting.
An interesting view and moment, well shown with beautiful colors, contrast, perspective and good text.
Beautiful cliff and old architecture, a good moment with dangerous clouds.
I wish you a nice day off, all the best.

Hi Luciano
It is really only over the top HDR that's gone out of fashion. In this photo it gives starling detail of the hill and village and has really brought out the clouds. The wider workshop view is a good added bonus.
cheers

Ciao Luciano,
HDR work enhanced the clouds pattern above the top of the rock built complex.
Details of the surrounding area also were accentuated, but personally I'd prefer more natural view to the place.
Have a nice sunday,

Hello Luciano,
It's a fantastic view, and we also get a good idea of how many tourists that visit this village. You processed it carefully and cleverly, but I must admit I am not a great fan of HDR. In this case mainly the clouds make an impression of a Hollywood fantasy film production. Not quite natural, but the light was great.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Luciano,
Quite impressive view if this fairy-tale like place. I guess the light in reality was about the same as on your previous upload, except that the sun shines on this case. I think the mountain and the village look quite good. The sky reveals that HDR treatment was strong and results on rather grainy appearance. But nice to see such experiments every now and then anyway.

Hello Luciano,
Your previous picture of Civita di Bagnoregio showed a wonderful village in an extraordinary setting.
This one here is even better. And more imaginative.
I like it better because of your more elevated point of view, the fact that we see more of the church tower, the steep cliffs that are more detailed and the dramatic looking clouds.
I don't always like HDR photos better but this one is fantastic!
Best regards, Paul

Luciano, this wonderful village was built on a hill and it is encircled by deep ravines. It is accessible by using a footbridge. The buildings look very old, the clock tower stands out by its height. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

it should be a nice place to explore. You mentioned the area is being destroyed by the water. It was the same problem in an indian old town named Jaiselmer.. but I guess they got to solve the problem. marvelous place and photo.

it's a pity if this village die, as you said here it seems to bee a fairy place! can'nt it relive with artists and artisans who would settle there; it seems that tourists like to come there
about the hdr I'm not fan of it for the village and the rocks but for the sky it's great! I find that globally the hdr decreases the contrast too much.

Hello Luciano
THe HDR makes the view even more surreal, even more fairytale-like than it is. It's a bit over the top, but here it works, because it is that kind of location/scenery. Quite magical.

Hi Luciano,
You have chosen a great vantage point for the photo, with the bell tower standing out above the rest of the town. The HDR gives a nice artistic effect, especially in the clouds.

Hello Luciano,
I do indeed like the HDR style - it's so you.
H(Hilarious), D(Dashy), R(Reviving) - shot.
Fairytale village made in Heaven by you. It's does not look like a 'dying city' anymore with this creation of art.
For my liking, I prefer the WS1. The whole landscapes just open-up - like heaven in my eyes. So magical and unreal. Yet its exists.
Thanks for sharing.

Hello Luciano,
It really looks like fairy-tale due to the HDR processing. I'm waiting for the dragons of the Game of Thrones to appear. Joking apart, this place is certainly on my bucket list.
Best Wishes,
Gy.

due versioni belle che sfruttano al meglio il paesaggio e il cielo.
Questa in prima pagina forse un po' troppo carica, ma l'effetto sorprendente.

Ciao Caro Luciano,
This HDR rendering really makes the photograph stand out.
Fairytale certainly describes the effect that it creates.
This could have come straight out of a Disney film.
I really like it!
Even the clouds seem to be in 3D!
And, as always, this is a fine composition.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

I was not a fan of HDR even when it was in fashion, not even now. So I can't say that I'm thrilled, but this is a much more "pleasant" view of the village than the one from the previous photo.

Ciao Luciano,
you are right HDRs are less popular nowadays, it is like with a make up strength. In the past strong makeups were popular -later some more natural ones and nowadays again strong makeovers..
Very impressive processing here, I do occasionally use the HDR enhancement but less often. Also if you start from raw file, the possibilities are almost the same.
I love this beautiful place here, the point of view is amazing, higher than before.
Excellent work,
M

Hi Luciano.
Impressive both compositions, the HDR gives a tremendous effect on the clouds, which look more threatening and if you stare at them it seems as if they are moving, the situation of this town is fascinating, surrounded by a spectacular environment.
A magnificent coloring that gives a lot of chromatic richness to the image.
Very good lighting management and very good sharpness.
Well done. I like it.
I wish you a pleasant week.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hi Luciano
very interesting topic about HDR. I was posting a lot of HDR images on TE a few years ago but I have stopped now. You're correct, it does seem to have gotten out of style and not so popular. I like the cloud HDR here, but not the bottom half, but that's just me. I want to visit this place, its so photogenic, I need to put it on my travel list. Looks like a lot of people as its quite popular to visit. great shot from this POV. cheers

Looks like an unfortunate fate hoovers on top of this magnificent construction of gone-by centuries, as there is nowadays a punishment allover the world! In my opinion, the curse you elaborated so beautifully looks more severe and extreme than the chastisement over Canada!
Thanks for the strong impact of your work.

Ciao Luciano,
Missed this one. A little HDR is fine and doesn't spoil this image at all. Reminds me of El Greco's Toledo with that dramatic sky! Tfs!

Hello Luciano!
I was absent on TE for few months and missed many interesting photographs... including this one!
I know HDR is basically not allowed on this site, but your photograph is really good. I am glad you posted it.
Looking at the tiny figures on the path I get the scale of this place! Magnificent.
Thanks for sharing!

You have a beautiful view of this legendary city. Good sharpness and exposure. Good combination with the sky. A more open view in the workshop is good.
