Mindil Beach, a photo from Northern Territory, West

Photographer's Note

On Thursday and Sunday evenings crowds flock to Mindil Beach in Darwin. People gather on the beach to relax and watch the sun setting over Fannie Bay. They bring along their deck chairs and their cameras - and they purchase food from the wide variety of international food stalls at the adjacent markets. A special occasion - and in my next posting I will show a scene from these markets.

very nice sunset view, people added lots of interest here, they are so small watching the show. beautiful light sillouets, pov and framing, a not usual sunset view, criative.

Hello Marlene,
the scene is very interesting - both composition-wise and colour-wise! I am impressed by these dark silhouettes "scattered" about the beach - and watching... (BTW, did you take a photo from afar?)
This looks like watching birth of a new planet!
Very beautiful and a little unusual - thanks to those dark figures on the beach ;) Very good idea to take such a photo including them!

The last time I was in Darwin, 2001 was on the way back from Bali and we did the Thursday night market, it really is a special event those markets, wish I had a camera back then. You captured the atmosphere beautifully here, the scattered silhouettes look fantastic. Colours are magic.

Hi Marlene,

The sunset is giving nice colors to the sky and the sea. The reflections of the sun rays on the sea and on the beach are assets to the composition. The presence of the people has an effect of scale. A relaxing moment to feel. have a nice day.

You're capturing well this sunset scenery by a good composition and excellent tone, so it's impressive and interesting to see beautiful sunset. People who have gone out to the beach are that the mind is washed by the beauty of nature. Evening sun projected to coast gives good effect as well as people with silhouette who are watching evening sun. And, it divides equally well and it catches the beach, the sea, and sky.
