Mt Ararat, a photo from Agri, East Anatolia

Re-scanned, larger image, framed, noise reduction in sky achieved through a combination of noise reduction, blurring and cloning out some of the larger blobs.

This was taken on the outskirts of Dogubeyazit, looking towards Mt Ararat. In the foreground is a stack of straw that was being used as roofing material, with mud added, on a house being built nearby

Hi Steve.
First, you have a good memory.
Second, a good shot with excellent scan and noise removal. Even in 1990 you knew how to compose a good shot, with one 'mountain' near, the other far, and the line of leaning trees in between. Nice colours with a pretty natural look. I wonder if you could take the same shot from this position today.

La qualit� de l'image est bien meilleure. La composition est toujours aussi bonne, bien s皞,avec ces deux "montagnes" qui s'駲uilibrent dans l'image.

This is a fine composition where the stack and the legendary mountain balance each other nicely. I also like the trees in between them. You certainly managed to improve this picture a lot through the re-scanning. I travelled in this region several times in the early 70's and it remains one of the most fascinating areas I have seen.

Hello Stece,

Mount Ağrı(Ararat) looks fantastic with the stack. It was banned to climb those days now it is alright to climb or trek around.
