Another little image from our cruise last springtime of some of the Norwegian fjords. Here we had left Olden and were heading for Fl蚓 on a beautifully sunny late afternoon. Unfortunately I didn't make any notes of the location but I strongly suspect this was taken while travelling up Sognefjorden, Norway's largest and deepest fjord.
ISO 100, 1/125 sec at f/8, focal length 43mm.

Hello John,
Wherever it is it is a delightful spot, made all the more beautiful thanks to the delicious late afternoon light. I like the composition and the point of view looking across the rocky peninsular. Ideally exposed with well rendered colours and some lovely textures. Thanks for sharing.

Hello John,
The light was perfect and the photo is sharp and so well exposed. We did the trip on the Hurtigruten a few years earlier at the end of March/early April and there was plenty of snow around especially further north. We also saw the Northern Lights. The buildings (not sure if the small one is some sort of lighthouse) add important foreground interest. Gorgeous sky and detail in the rocks.
Kind Regards, Ann

Hi John, another wonderful memory of your fjord cruise, another time a great view and a perfect moment with the ligh that warm up the colors in a perfect way, very well done..as usual! I have never experienced any security problems. Something has definitely changed with the arrival of mass tourism in Nosy be. I remember that in 96 the tablecloths were swapped with a jar of Italian shampoo or t-shirt. Now, however, the shops are so many and only accept money. What struck me most is the disappearance of starfish, which 23 years ago when there was low tide were so many. And then it seems that this destination has also become a sexual paradise, even if I have not seen anything around. Perhaps authentic Madagascar is still found only in the south.Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello John,
This could be an advert for cruising the coast of Norway!
It is beautiful!
The light is amazing and you have achieved excellent clarity.
I love the details of light and shadows over the hills and the sea.
The small buildings, with brightly coloured roofs, supply attractive little focal points, fitting perfectly into this wild landscape.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello John, a beautiful scene with the indigo coloured water in the foreground, beautifully contrasting with the rocks, where the little lighthouse (?) catches the eye.
As others have already said, the late afternoon sun illuminates the landscape so well.
Excellent sharpness right to the far horizon.
Regards Jean.

Hi John
Beautiful scenery, I love the strange shape of the rocky islet in the foreground and of course the little building with photogenic red roof, nicely placed on the left of the frame to create a balance composition.
Best wishes

Hello John
A wonderful image of the Norwegian coast that is unmistakable. Amazing how they carve out their habitats in these very rocky areas. Just beautiful.

Hello John,
I wonder if anyone actually lives in that house, and what the small hut near the water is used for. Whatever people may be doing here they have a great view of the water, in case they have time to watch it or didn't get tired of it long ago. But what a windy place this could be. And what a beautiful view you had from the ship on this sunny afternoon. The light is fantastic. I really like the rusty tones of the mossy rocks just above the almost black sea. It's an excellently exposed photo and a very nicely balanced composition with the building towards the left side and the steep hill to the right.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello John,
What an amazing view! So well balanced between land and sea and the light was really fantastic, it brought out the warm colours of the land so well and the combination with the darker clouds in the sky was perfect. Very well done.

Hi John,
Light is wonderful on this one. Obviously there's not much green there in April. But colours are lovely anyway. Yes, the fjords near Fl蚓 are narrower so I think Sognefjorden is a good guess.

Hi John,
beautiful view! The central section seems to be in the spotlight with some darker clouds above but also shaded water in the foreground.
It looks like you were waiting for a perfect moment to capture it.
It feels very wild with just the little house adding a touch of civilization.
I really like how crispy sharp the image is and a great level of contrast which makes it feel very realistic.
Excellent work,
M

Hello John, In my smartphone I have GPS so I have saved a location. it is very practical. I just look at EXIF Info, then the position in Google map, or Goole Earth. And I can copy it to the note. it is why I prefer the smartphone to the Sony camera.
Wonderful view of this piece of land with the charming little house and the minimin lighthouse. marvelous landscape, wonderful colours and sharpness.
Kind regards MAlgo

Dear Sir, my attention was drawn to this image for its beauty and serenity.. the strong tones, accentuated by the buildings in the fg give depth to the image.. I can only believe you are a professional photographer- with such quality

Hello John,
wow, I need to go there. This is exactly the type of landscape my soul needs. The bare hills, the sea and fluffy clouds painting the sides of the hills with patches of their shade.
Beautifully taken.
Best wishes

PS. Been chatting to the cheeky lock keeper, we agreed that we kind of miss the friends we know from this old fashioned website.

Hello John
You could have taken this photo in many places on the Norwegian coast, so it is not insurmountable that we do not know the exact location. The Nordic landscape is almost everywhere of great picturesque beauty.
Well done
Have a nice day, groet Rob

Hello, John!
If it were not for the snow on the mountains in the background, I would say it was warm there, for the warm colors of the earth, which makes the composition very attractive! Interesting lonely house, and more interesting is that sort of little lighthouse on the right. Beautiful composition!

Hi John
as we all know, photography is all about the light...and you certainly have some beautiful lighting conditions here. the light seems to strike the rustic landscapes in all the best places. and the depth of the shot is great too, especially the large cloud formations, i loooove clouds! I wonder how deep this fjord is. splendid shot from the ship. cheers
