Excellent idea to combine the figures on the road with the couple to the background.
Of course the black an white conversion and the diagonal placement in the frame, made even more intense the all idea.

patterns, patterns, patterns... how long did you hae to stand by that street sign to get these two to walk into the frame? i like the idea, but not sure about the overall grayness of the scene. i guess, i would have liked stronger whites somewhere; the blacks are ok.

I'm in a state of mind right now that this shot and the message behind it really gets to me. in a good way, that is :)
I would add "decisive moment" as a category, your timing is what makes this photo so powerful. any other person or persons in the frame - pouff! the magic of the story would be gone. I also agree with the choice of B&W, it works well to focus the attention on the silhouettes and pavement signs. as much as I love colours, I have to admit that they would be distractive in this particular case. superb work, my compliments.

Indeed a decisive moment which you/we don`t see or capture everyday...it`s a really great photograph...just love the rainy atmosphere,the way horizon look...the place where water meets the sky...it`s beautiful.The signs on the asphalt?...oh yes...matches with the humans so good.
Personally I would use the vignetting much much more...but not excessively.

That walking couple (not on the upper part, but on the lower part, on the street) remind of something... Totally diferent aproach, though! Fantastic, romantic photo, excellent framing and composition, that umbrella (and the title) reminds me of the song "Come rain or come shine". A photo worth to become a poster! Congratulations!

Hi Korkut--Did you wait a long time for two people to come along to be in your shot? I'm picturing you standing out there in the rain for an hour, with your shot all framed, but the only people coming along being alone, or in threes, or arguing with each other, or whatever. Well, whatever time it took, it was worth the wait. The reflection nicely ties the real people to the reflected ones, and the mood of togetherness as a counter to a rainy day is really strong.

You must have young boys at home, otherwise you wouldn't be using yu-gi-oh to put the photo to song!

Korkut, that is excellent! I like the juxtaposition of the sign on the pavement and the couple in the background. It was very thoughtful of you to see that. Did you see the sign then waited for people to come or it just happened?

I seemed to have missed this great one of yours. I love the two by two...two drawings of two people on the road twice, and two people under the umbrella with their reflection. Wonderful with the misty wet atmosphere and the road disappearing into the distance with good perspective. I like too that the people are almost in silhouette and we can not make out their features adding to the mystery. Great work!
