What a sad picture.
This kind of image makes me very humble.
The little lad looks younger than one of my grandsons and I can`t believe how different their lives are.
Your picture says`Poverty`,as is often the case in these Asian countries.

an interesting but not pleasant scene from the little boy's daily life. I wish that living conditions are improved for all children and don't worsen for those who have had a secure and comfortable life so far. Your picture is very vivid with the little boy and the man beside him crossing the frame against an eloquent backdrop you captured with superb clarity and depth. When I think of Nepal, I don't see it as your photo has shown us here. With all our technology we still lack the most important aspect of life......compassion and love for all. We have the means to make everyone痴 life better, but our governments refuse to do so.....this is sadder than your outstanding presentation. Excellent work and POV Miguel!!

Wow! This brings back memories of my youth growing up in the Philippines. I used to do the same, gather firewood for cooking. Great documentation of the daily life of people. Good lighting and dof with nice details. Well done, tfs.

The wood may not look so heavy but it must be a lot for such a small child to carry. It's a sad fact that for many families it is hard to make ends meet without contributions from the children, but I really would have prefered to see this boy playing with his friends. Still, it's a good photo showing life as it is.

in some aspects work for so little children is a sad thing, but here in Brazil the children were prohibited to work and after school many of them do nothing and many of them are transformed in criminals.
very nice flagrant of this side of life.

Children working is a common sight in India, Miguel.
Sad as it is, this would be their way to make a living.

An excellent documentary shot in your style, Miguel. The little boy stands out against the harsh surroundings, and his plight is communicated well here, showing the unladen man he is with as he hauls these branches that are larger than he himself is!

I like the picture, but I think the perspective and angle is not optimal, since the boy doesn't well separate from the man and parts of the background are distracting (the tires and the really dark shaded area). Shooting more from the front (or the back) of the child, a slightly lower point of view and a larger aperture or zooming in might had helped a bit.

It's surely a real and very authentic daily scene. Not a nice one to see, but unfortunately life is really like that in many parts of this world. Wish he had the chance to study and have a better life!

Interesting shot very crucial when a Kid was passing by. The wood pile even could have more sticks. Perhaps he comes back to fetch more. Certainly the sticks must be for wooden stoves.
