Photographer's Note

In Hindu beliefs, great significance is attached to offering honey to this goddess, as honey is representative of perfect knowledge.
Saraswati Puja is one such festival that almost all the Bengali homes in West Bengal celebrate. On this day, the Goddess of knowledge and fine arts is worshipped with great fervor. The Bengali community considers knowledge and fine arts as an integral part of its life. People of all age participate in Saraswati Puja with unparallel intensity.
Recently i went to Kumartuli..& i found Saraswati idol with 'Ma Durga'.... i like the idol & take a shot.... condition of light & colour was also very interesting....

Beautiful light - highlighting precisely what we associate with the features of maa Durga. The out of focus statue on the right is giving her the perspective and weightage to get the eyes locked on to her face. Very well done.
