Thinking of home?, a photo from Sarawak, East

Sorry folks, inactive here and travel a bit last few days for year end.

I did not speak to this tourist but obviously he was quite absorbed with the sunset view here at Kuching Waterfront. I am guessing he could be from Germany, from his build and appearance (but I could be wrong). Most Europeans find Borneo's jungle and natural habitat to be a key attraction, especially our cultural diversity. In comparison, less North Amercians or British visitors come to Borneo/Sarawak, although a good number come from Australia.

This is the most convenient place to watch sunset from tourists because you just need to step out of the hotels and walk across the road to the riverfront. What was he thinking? He could be thinking of home? Or he was just lost in thought, away from home, on a holiday. I noticed he was localised by wearing slippers. His wife was standing not far from him, also wearing slippers and similiar attire. I would have thought he enjoyed the moment of silence and peace and pursuing his dream of travel around.

I am thinking of going away!
I feel so encaged right now! I want to get out and go some place so bad, but responsibilities won't allow me for now.

I think that this tourist is just looking at this wonderful sunset,and he is thinking that he would like to stay here for a very long time!The silhouette of the barrier gives a splendid graphism,and the man has a good place ,a little bit decentered,and we can admire the nice landscape!Very well done,and very beautiful!

Beautiful shot of the person looking into the scenery, a beautiful sunset, lost in thought, or perhaps just enjoying a few munites of peace and quietness. It's true that Malaysia is not as well known in the U.S. as a tourist destination, however, even myself had not consider it until just recently that I learned much more about it. Off course now, it on my growing list of places to go. Thanks Bill.

nice and romantic snapshot with the man looking the sunset.Who knows what is he thinking admiring the sun still painting pastoral colors in the clouds and make this a lovely shot.Well done.

a very nostalgic and romantic photo.
Very good composition!
In fact, I agree with what was said in the very first comment: maybe the man wishes he would stay there forever, at that beautiful enchanting place, without never having to come back home. We never know where our real, true home is. If you read S. Maugham's "The Moon and Sixpence" - Chapter 50 - he says it all about "home". Your photo seems to be an excellent illustration to this book.
I love travelling and I hknow my home which seems to be very far away from me.

I like very much the rear-taken portraits.
They are discreet and they allow to observer to see the same landscape that the subject see, so they allow an intense indentification with the subject's interiority.
So you took a very good capture.
