Photographer's Note

The El Cortez, a hotel and casino is a relatively small downtown Las Vegas gaming venue a block from the Fremont Street Experience and Las Vegas Boulevard. The official marketing slogan has been "Where locals come to play" since the El Cortez has traditionally attracted Las Vegas residents weary of large casinos geared towards tourists. Slots, table games and a race and sports book occupy one floor of the main pavilion. It is one of the oldest casino-hotel properties in Las Vegas having continuously operated at the same Fremont Street location since 1941. Primarily Spanish Colonial Revival in style, it reflects a 1952 remodel when the facade was modernized. On February 22, 2013, the structure was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. A little orgy of neon lights, providing a great and spectacular splash of colors in the evening darkness. This is a very well exposed photo from a perfect POV overlooking the street.

A lot of colourful signs even if this is not the famous strip. This looks more "normal" and still fascinating enough. A very fine and interesting picture!

This composition of illuminated neon signs has a distinctive nostalgic mood to it. I wouldn't know better, I d'have said that this was taken sometimes in the 60ties. Only the modern car is a sure give away of the time really. Love it.

Medley of colours! Lovely night ambient and the 'coolness' of colour that you have found here This really does look cozy, very intriguing set up, the high pov and It makes me want to look at every detail. The neon light draws the eyes in as you turn an everyday street scene into something really special of the essence of the street culture. Excellent clarity and the effect you have captured here with so many varying tones in a well controlled exposure. Simply delicious to view, Well done,

I read your note with interest and it is good to see an area a little away from the main strip. This is a super night time shot with good neon colours against the dark BG. Lots of lovely detail to explore in the very well taken picture.

Eleu, I like that street view by night of Vegas, the light signs are superb and attractive, good light and vivid colors, you're not old and even if you'll become old one day like everybody the most important in my opinion is to stay "young" in your mind
