Photographer's Note
If our country's currency was good health I think we'd be in deep recession, don't you?
Coincidentally, I am lying in bed feeling unwell.Trust me to be felled by a lurgie on May Day bank holiday (although the first of May is the real May Day).

Hello Bev,
First of all, I hope your "lurgie" is a fleeting one and that you are soon up and about and fighting fit again.
But your picture could only be Scotland, couldn't it? And of course, this is Edinburgh where people are so much fitter and healthier than in Glasgow!
An excellent capture of daily life in the streets of Leith, all the characters brightly lit by the health-giving sunshine against a deeply shaded background. Curiously, none of them seems particularly interested in booking a cruise.
Brilliant!
Get well soon!
John.

Hello Bev,
Rather a sad picture this time, but well seen. Smoking was once supposed to be a sign of being smart and attractive, at least in the movies, but now I would rather see it, and obesity, as a sign of a society in a crisis. The well educated get richer and know how to tace care of themselves, whereas the poor get poorer and sicker.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Bev, you've caught our attention!! Just hope the 'dreaded lurgie' has passed and you're all ready for work again!!
Good candid shot here. Looks like these are the smoking seats.
I really enjoy taking images like this.
You've caught the action well. Crisp and clear, well done

Hello Bev,
I hope, by now, that you are much improved!
This looks so much like the people I see waiting outside the Employment Exchange. There is a desire in me to see them looking animated and determined but, I've never been unemployed and, therefore, who am I to judge them!
You photograph tells no lies. Sadly, it is a journalistic record of the way of life in many areas of the country.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Bev. Maybe the old song they used to play in Australia," All my friends are getting married," should now be "All my friends are getting fatter." We have similar scenes here too and are competing with all the gusto to be the fattest people in the world. The Americans are still numero uno. Smoking is another story, the two combined is an abrupt end of the story. Regards. Klaudio.
