Photographer's Note
鏑et me get it straight is a phrase which means in English more like 鏑et me explain, 鏑et me clarify. It came to my mind when looking at the houses in this photo. Obviously trying to make the houses look straight is pointless because they are not straight. In fact, it indicates that they are old and authentic.
This reminds a real-life situation, which I may have shared already with you before, it is about the alternative use of the word 都traight. It is about a friend of mine who I met in Los Angeles. We were both from Central Europe our English skills required a lot of extra work. He went for a yoga class with his friends and he took his towel with him. The towel was pink. The girls from work who work with him told him that this may in fact indicate that he is gay not straight. This new meaning of word 都traight as opposed to 堵ay was new to him. On the next trip to a club, he asked for vodka at the bar. The bartender asked him: 鉄traight? meaning undiluted. He associated this question with his previous experience and worryingly answered 添es, I am straight賠 I know it sounds a bit as if I was talking about myself but those who know me can confirm that I would never go for a yoga class or drink vodka straight.
From small towns off the beaten track, you can usually expect that they have one small street with not much more to see, but Lneburg is far more than that. It has a wonderful old town with plenty of unique buildings. Ironically, most of my photos which include the attractive architecture like beautiful town hall or interesting St Johannis church have either terrible white sky or are trimmed because I didn稚 have a wide angle zoom then. So, what I am going to share here are just some random street scenes. This photo was taken along a wide promenade called Am Sande.

Sure, those are not strait... saw many old houses that had a tilt, but still offer a beautiful sight, Mariusz.
A fine frontal POV of the similar-style two houses, which differ only by the windows array and the street level shops fronts.
Nice view from acros, added some action on the pavement.
Wish you a nice weekend,
Ike

Hi Mariusz,
Beautiful old town architecture from Northern Germany. This could be a nice daytrip target from Hamburg. Yes, upper parts of those buildings look pretty twisted. I guess use of perspective correction has somewhat increased that effect. I like your fun note.

Hi Mariusz, your notes on the use of some words are very useful to avoid double meanings in the future for us ... ehehe ... and the photo is another wonderful memory, from this frontal perspective it is clear that the old houses are not perfectly straight , they remind me a lot of others I have seen in France, excellent quality. Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Hello Mariusz,
Funny story about that friend in the bar :)
I confess that I didn't know the meaning of 'straight' as 'undiluted'. I would therefore have found such a question from a bartender rather personal.
Two beautiful stepped gables on the left and right of the probably already restored facade in the centre.
I was never in this town but the region is better known to us because of the Lneburger Heide, the area of heath and woodland.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Mariusz,
I think your notes are hilarious!
It clearly shows how language is not static and constantly changing!
When I was young, gay only had the meaning of being happy and carefree, so straight would have had one less meaning, too.
This is a lovely street scene, the facades having similar, triangular shapes to the one you posted previously, but without the flowers.
They are very attractive, using the windows as integral parts of the decorations.
The crop is very well judged, giving a trio of buildings and just enough pavement details to give a sense of place.
My warm regards,
Bev 😊

Hello Mariusz, amusing notes which made me smile.
Our vocabulary has so many variations not only in meaning, but sometimes in pronunciation, I marvel that people can learn it so well.
I love to see these buildings which look as if a strong wind might blow them down.
A good choice of buildings too, as the two either side of the cafehaus seem to match each other with their style of architecture.
Lovely sharp shot.
Kind regards, Jean.

Ciao Mariusz, A very straightforward explanation of the proclivities of the English language together with a very straight on foto of these gay little facades. Splendid capture I want to add.

Hello Mariusz,
These fa軋des remind me of many other I saw last summer in Northern Germany as well, especially Rostock. A wonderful collection of brick architecture and a nice sense of symmetry as well. The light was perfect also.

Hi Mariusz
The ones on either side of the centre building are certainly not straight and the one on the right is decidedly warped. It is a well spotted scene and a well exposed photo.
cheers

Hello Mariusz,
This beautiful and unique architecture caught my eye, and then I thoroughly enjoyed reading your note. Non-English speakers can certainly get confused with some of the idioms and slang we use. :-) Getting back to the photo, I really like the upper sections of the buildings on the right and left sides. Take care!

Czesc Mariusz!
The al fresco diners add a focal point and also provide scale. Good sharpness and interesting old symmetrical architecture. Tfs!

Hi Mariusz,
A charming group of buildings, perfectly exposed and looking great in the sunshine. The buildings on each side look very similar at first sight, but they are quite distinctive in their details.
That's a funny story - so many words in English have several different meanings, such as straight, but there are often many different words to describe the one thing.

Hello Mariusz.
Undoubtedly these houses are very old, but very old, the slopes of their facades affirm it.
They are a true marvel and the use of brick creating those original finishes shows us a style a little different from those seen in other countries or areas.
Sharpness, lighting, color, and the magnificent composition; they are all perfectly managed factors, in this beautiful image.
Well done. I like very much.
You have a good day.
Very best regards.
Luis.
