Bird of Prey, a photo from Queensland, East

Photographer's Note

I'm hoping for maybe a little help in Identifying this bird of prey, Its native to Australia and seen quite frequently in North queensland during Sugar cane cutting season when all the rats are flushed out of the cane. THis was such a gorgeous bird, it had been injured at some stage and was being kept in a native animal sanctuary. The eye's show so much intelligence, this one was curious as I was talking to it as I took the picture

It seems this is called a Whistling Kite, I finally found a bird site with information on it :o]

Very lovely capture Lisa, nicely composed with this tight crop. Details and colors are finely rendered with depth of focus very much under control. This is first rate work on every level. I'm not a birder but I don't doubt someone in the crowd will be able to identify this beauty.

Lovely shot. I like the effect of the green background. Great details. I'm not much of a birder either, so maybe I'm mistaken. Is it a sparrow? (just kidding)

Hi Lisa, what a spectacular exemplar of an eagle, which I think, that it could be, look at the eyes, the beak, it is in fine sharpness, "eye" love it !
