Photographer's Note

Plaza de Oriente is a square in the historic centre of Madrid. It is rectangular in shape and monumental in character, and was designed in 1844 by Narciso Pascual y Colomer. The square was propagated by King Joseph I, who ordered the demolition of the medieval houses on the site.

It is located between some important landmarks in Madrid, on the west is the Royal Palace, on the east is the Royal Theatre, and to the north is the Royal Monastery of the Incarnation.

Hello Daniel,
The line of statuary helps create depth and perspective for the composition. The little family group make a good focal point and supplies scale for the monumental statues. Very good technical realisation.

Hello Daniel,
A pleasant composition with the statues and the street seen on a diagonal. The romantic couples sitting between the statues create a nice atmosphere and the family walking towards us add another attraction to the photo. The small girls' red clothes are good eye-catchers and match the red/brown tones of the ground, the trees and the buildings behind them very nicely. Again it's a good choice of a vertical shape.

Superbly used the lit facades behind this statues boulevard and through the trees, add a magnificent orange color on the back side of the naked trees.

Just a lovely composition, including the converging floor tiles, the row of statues and the winter trees, all creating an excellent sense of perspective.

i like how we can see some Autumn orange colours seeping through the tree branches, even though its not autumn.
the sunlight helps bring them out too, and the lines on the ground give impact to the fg areas. well put together compo.
