Rubber Cycle, a photo from Amazonas, North

Photographer's Note

From the trunk of the rubber tree is extracted this white liquid, the latex, raw material for the rubber manufacturing. Its discovery and consequent exploitation were essencial to the occupation of the Amazon. The wealth, naturally, was concentrated in the hands of the so called "Rubber Barons".

This picture was taken in the Rubber Tree Museum, by the Negro River side, not distant from the city of Manaus, nevertheless without road access, being accessible only by boat. In this museum, a path in the middle of the jungle allows the visitor to know the rubber tree and to watch the process of latex swab and rubber manufacturing.

Muito interessante ver extrair o l疸ex da seringueira assim t縊 de perto. A foto est� excelente e nos passa uma impress縊 de imagem 3d. ﾓtima a ideia de desfocar a mulher deixando bem n咜ido o registro da extra鈬o. Parab駭s, belo trabalho.

mandou bem mesmo nessa foto e colocando a mulher trabalhando, sen縊 iriam pensar muito mal de algum seringueiro macho tirando leite desse pau. A velha piadinha de sempre. Eu acho que teria dado uma acentuada nos levels para aumentar o contraste dessa foto, mas pode ser a porqueira do monitor aqui que � ruim tamb駑, � o da faculdade... depois vejo com calma em casa.

Clear to show the scar on the trunk, I have some old friends working as a rubber tapper decade years ago, I was follow them walking into the rubber estate while I'm still a child, for the manufacing works I still not yet study it with my real eyes, interesting composition, thanks for sharing.

Si ya estoy de regreso, aun que no tan activo como antes, pero me da gusto saber de ti.

Sabes esta foto me gusta mucho por que mi papa cuando era joven fue chiclero, es decir cosechaba el chicle de esta forma como lo hace la persona aqu�. As� que esta foto ademas de bonita me trae bueno recuerdos.

Still this technique are in use? thought this already gone, Alexandre, or maybe in a museum only.
