Photographer's Note

Across the lake from my house the children were singing Christmas carols, and at the end of the concert a small fireworks display celebrated the festive season. I think it is nice to end the year on a bang.
I'd like to wish each and everyone of the TE members and their family's a happy, loving Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

Hi Peter!!!

The thumbnail doesn't dispense justice to your photo, to my opinion; it's far better in full size!!! I like very much your composition, wiith a crisp capture of the fireworks, the beautiful and colorful reflections on the water, and the shore with the line of the palm trees. Amusing to discover that the fireworks are imitating their shapes! I also like very much the blur effect of the light in the clouds of dust. A festive (and for me, exotic)contribution, in this Christmas day!

Hello Peter! What a way to celebrate, it is much TOO grey and foggy where I live for such wonders but you live in a place where summer rules the Season, so this is the way to begin Christmas. Lovely shot, warm and it suits also my Christmas, summer or winter, the main thing is the people around you. Hi Peter,
excellent display of niht shot especially with the sparkles of beautiful fireworks.
You freeze the smokes giving a special effect to the canvas.
Really lovely though a bit late in writing.

So, how do you prefer Christmas;with or without snow?
I like it with snow, as I had it this year,at Panorama but I wouldn`t mind one in the middle of the summer:)
I think your photo is a great description of Christmas in the Southern Hemisphere.

This is really nice, Peter. You have managed to frame the burst perfectly, which is difficult to achieve and the speed that they happen. Also your speed was enough the freeze the action at a good point. The glimpses of the the reflection and the shoreline and an added bonus. regards kevin
