A sunset. The most classic of metaphors to mark the end of something. Today we celebrate the end of 2018, with a spectacular view from the Mont Passot. With its 329 meters Mont Passot is the highest place on the island. The mountain is surrounded by superb small sacred lakes still populated by crocodiles. The panorama is exceptional. From here you can enjoy romantic breathtaking sunsets over the Mozambique canal. Happy 2019 wishes to all!

Un tramonto. La pi� classica delle metafore per segnare la fine di qualcosa. Oggi si celebra la fine del 2018, con una vista spettacolare dal Mont Passot. Con i suoi 329 metri Mont Passot � il posto pi� alto dell段sola. La montagna � circondata da superbi piccoli laghi sacri ancora popolati da coccodrilli. Il panorama � eccezionale. Da qui si possono godere romantici tramonti mozzafiato sul canale del Mozambico. Auguri di Buon 2019 a tutti!

A beautiful sunset beautifully captured. I like very much the inclusion of the group of onlookers seen in silhouette. Perfectly exposed to capture the mood and the nuances of tone in the evening sky. Happy New Year 2019 to you.

Indeed a very beautiful sunset and a very well exposed photo giving full credit to the intense colours. As a composition it would not have been as strong without the silhouettes of the persons to the right and their obvious excitement.

Hi Luciano
i'm curious, did you spend your entire time in Madagascar on the Island of Nosy Be? Or did you get the chance to get out and explore? I know this country is quite poor, and safety can be a real concern...so i'm not sure. and yes, a classic metaphor for saying goodbye, the classic sunset. rich deep tones, and the people make it all the better on the right!

A splendid photograph of a glorious sunset - and what an appropriate image to mark the end of yet another year!

The light and colours in your photograph are amazing but what I love is how you have include a little group of people on the right, beautifully silhouetted against the sky and all facing (and one pointing) in the direction of the setting sun!

Beautiful sunset from this surprisingly high viewpoint. Those silhouettes look just great and are perfectly placed near the right edge. Timing is just right as one spectator points the hand towards the setting sun.

What a striking sky! The contrast to the black shapes of islands and peninsulas is great, but what I admire most is the group of humans on the right side, real humans or human shapes of some artwork pointing out to the wonders of nature?

This is a beautiful view to begin the new year. I like all the empty space in most of the frame. The colors are strong, and the small silhouettes of the people on the right side are lovely, too. I especially like how one person is pointing out into the distance. Happy New Year! :-)

I like very much the silhouettes of people crowding at the upper right corner, one of them pointing out to something and another possibly holding a camera.
Very impressive!
Colors are fantastic and the silhouettes of the landscape add so much interest too.

Me gusta la puesta de sol que captaste desde este punto de vista elevado, que nos ofrece una escena llena de paz y de misticismo. Las siluetas de la gente en el mirador y del paisaje costero, nos regalan un precioso contraste con los tonos naranja y azules en el cielo.
