Along the river ...IV, a photo from Santarem, South

Photographer's Note

This is a reflection of the wooden pier of Palhota, a little village founded by the Avieiros, on one of the banks of the Tagus River.
The Avieiros are called this way because most part of them came from Vieira de Leiria, were fishermen who were forced to leave their homes along the coast and settled along the Tagus river because this river was safe and here they could fish the whole year, something that was impossible on the coast, where they had to spend many winter days without fishing . This migration happened in the 19th and 20th centuries, when they settled in little villages of humble wooden houses on stilts along the Tagus river. Today it痴 still possible to find several of these villages and several entities are trying hard to preserve this unique culture of the Avieiros, who were called 鍍he gypsies of the river� by Alves Redol, a Portuguese writer who wrote about them. Most part of the original houses have already disappeared because of the materials used in the construction and most part of the ones we can find in these villages are now a little different, but these villages and this culture are really interesting . I know several already and I壇 like to visit the rest.

As I always go with currently posted photos in TE (these days), it attracted me with its eye catching thumbnail appearance. A nice colour pallet Ana. I love colours and they are present here with an abstract look. Love the reflection shot which is a nice result of imagination. Tfs.

These are beautiful reflections, not easily identified but if you say they're from a wooden pier, so they are:-). It doesn't really matter so much what caused these colours and lines, it's just a very nice composition with very enjoyable colours and patterns.

The pov has revealed the distinctive subject in bold colors and needless to mention how the wonderful wiggly water has further enhanced the effect with excellent abstract value. me encantan este tipo de composiciones de reflejos sobre el agua, porque tienen un bonito grafismo, unos vivos colores, y un espl駭dido toque de pintura abstracta, gracias a las ondulaciones del agua.
El efecto visual obtenido es grande, aunque hay que tener buena t馗nica y buen ojo para conseguirlo.
