St. Stephen's Cathedral, a photo from Bayern, West

Photographer's Note

Passau is a town in Bavaria at the confluence of the Danube (Donau), Inn and Ilz. Because of this geographical feature, it is nicknamed Dreifl�ssestadt, that is to say "the city of three rivers".
St. Stephen's Cathedral is located on the highest hill of the old city between the river Inn and the Danube, 13 m above the Danube and 303 m above sea level and is long 102 m wide by 33.5 m and the tip of the dome of the intersection of the nave is 69 m high. That is why it is one of the largest cathedrals with Baroque interior the largest north of the Alps.
The photo was taken with my little IXUS 400 at the time .

Passau est une ville de Bavi鑽e au confluent du Danube (Donau), de l棚nn et de l'Ilz. Du fait de cette particularit� g駮graphique, elle est surnomm馥 Dreifl�ssestadt, c'est-�-dire ｫ la ville aux trois rivi鑽es ｻ.
La cath馘rale St. ﾉtienne se trouve sur la colline la plus haute de la vieille ville entre le fleuve Inn et le Danube, � 13 m au-dessus du Danube et � 303 m au-dessus du niveau de la mer. Elle est longue de 102 m, large de 33,5 m et la pointe de la coupole de l段ntersection de la nef est haute de 69 m. C弾st pourquoi elle est une des cath馘rales les plus grandes avec l段nt駻ieur baroque le plus grand au nord des Alpes.
Elle 騁ait un peu "emmaillot馥" lors de mon passage. La photo a 騁� faite avec mon tout petit IXUS 400 du moment.

Un beau pdv sur la cath馘rale et en perspective le Danube avec ces ponts, belle composition avec une tr鑚 plaisant luminosit� qui fait ressortir le relief des toitures.

This fine cathedral seems to have an eastern feel to it, with its vaguely onion type domes. It towers above the surrounding town, and all of the red roofs look beautiful against the green and blue of the landscape. You composed this very nicely with the bridge where it is in the scene too, creating fine depth and even more interest to compliment the cathedral. One of the most impressive cathedrals I'd never heard of, thanks for sharing it!

Such an old photo, taken with small camera, and the quality is excellent. Of course, composition doesn't depend of time or camera. you found an excellent POV, th sharpness is superb, colours very nice.

You have written a very interesting and informative note and also provided us with a magnificent view of this splendid cathedral and its environment.

Your composition is classical with the spires of the cathedral perfectly placed in the frame and the river and its bridges leading us onward into sublime countryside. The light and colours are divine, your exposure perfect and the details and sharpness are exquisite, especially when viewed at full size. An excellent photograph considering that it was taken eight years ago on a small compact camera too.

A commanding view of this beautiful scene. Which looks like something straight out of a fairy tale. The Danube looks a little bit blue and a little bit green to me - I wonder what that means :) Stunning architecture and a superbly original view of the River.

A superb high pov with good sharpness and splendid density levels and saturation. I like the repetition of patterns and shapes. The 3 green cupolas make fine focal points. The 2 bridges add interest as does the diagonal river visible at right. Tfs!

N'abandonnez pas ce bijou d'Ixus 400 qui peut faire la morale � certains plus grands; le rendu tonal est irr駱rochable et la r駸olution, 騁onnante pour un 4mp.
Le point de vue 駘ev� donne l'impression de voir un mod鑞e r馘uit du village.
