Photographer's Note
please view the photo in improved sharpness here SANDEMAN.
I have to admit, I was disappointed when I finally learned what this Sandeman Building is.
I was hoping it was something more sinister, mean, horror-like, spooky-like, especially with the image of the man wearing a long black cape.
In fact, its the advertisement for a local Winery, and that's the label they put on their bottles. Oh well, no spooky story.
Anyways, I hope you like this shot of Porto, perhaps you've seen this tall advertisement as well during your time spent here and wondered the same.
Hope you like it.

Hello Craig,
A spot which I do not remember seeing in Porto, and this looks attractive with the old style architecture's, the towers, bells and clock, with the Sandeman painted wall is just a nice bonus to the whole.
Wonder how this might look when the trees have green foliage in summer.
Wish you a nice weekend,
Ike

Hi Craig.
Here we go, a very familiar scene to me, but taken from a completely different point of view. Very nice shot, the church towers give the city distinguish architectural charm. TFS!!!

Hello Craig,
I don't remember if I saw exactly this Sandeman sign, but there were others, as well as those of so many more wineries. Certain parts of Porto were brightened by the large port wine ads. This one looks really good on that building and in relation to the rest of the quite sophisticated architecture. I thought Sandeman was a fairly well known trade-mark everywhere, apparently not in Canada. ;-)
Regarding my latest photo, it's really quite normal sand the kids were playing with, not hard packed mud. You may have been mistaken because the photo turned out slightly darker than expected. It happens quite often. Partly it's my own fault because I prefer to give the colours more punch by slightly darkening the photos, rather than increasing saturation the regular way.
Have a nice weekend,
Gert

Hello Craig,
Oh, you shouldn't be disappointed with this caped logo for he is the symbol of excellent quality port! Well, that is what I was always told as a child. At Christmas (my parents didn't drink a lot, other than at this time and weddings) the Sandeman port came out and was sipped deliciously and ceremoniously by them and my aunties! I suppose he was their 'caped crusader'! 😂
The naked trees seem to give a very artistic effect to the buildings, almost like a crackling effect. For me, it adds much more interest.
The Sandeman makes a very strong feature, whether interpreted as someone sinister or as bringer of a delicious tipple! He becomes a precursor to the glimpses of other tall, interesting buildings showing above the roofline.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Craig
I love how beautiful trees are drowning in the beautiful fa軋de of buildings.
Rosette and bell tower on the right and left advertisement for a local Winery.
Nice contrasting mix of old and new architecture, sharp details and harmonious composition.
Kind regards

Hi Craig,
The buildings are framing well the church. The point of view is showing the details of the publicity, of the buildings and of the church. The light is enhancing the colours. Have a nice day.

Hello Craig, a well balanced shot, where my eyes keep returning to the silhouette of 'Sandeman'.
Such a mixture of architectural styles; the foreground trees soften some of the lines.
Kind regards Jean.

Hello Craig,
A great and really well-composed shot with a great variety of architecture. I really like the row of fa軋des in blue and yellow, still well seen through the branches of the March trees. The towers of the church and the highest building with the Sandeman advertisement create a very appealing top half of the photo as well.

Hi Craig
I used to watch Zorro on an b&w tv way back in the late 1960's, and that black caped man on the wall at left reminds me of that character. Good sharpness and I like the alternating colors of the facades of the buildings. Tfs!

Hi Craig,
nice panoramic view from Porto. We see some characteristic towers and a lineup of old stylish and colorful town houses.
Presence of sandeman adds a lovely touch.
You inspired me to review my photos from Portugal.

Hi Craig.
A fantastic photo, with these different levels of height, with which on the line of facades in the foreground, the towers of several churches and other buildings rise up, a beautiful juxtaposition.
Excellent POV, with very good lighting, color and sharpness to enjoy the details.
Very good work. I like
Happy start of the week.
Very best regards.
Luis.
