A beautiful vertical composition! Perfect sharpness; the row of trees give a 3D feeling...

By the way, if you add a dark box around the frame in photoshop, it'll stand out better in TE.

A beautiful capture of this cold, snowy landscape, this situation is repeated across the northern hemisphere, it seems that we will have a very cold winter.

Hi Tom,
That delicate tracery of white branches against the bluest of skis is just fabulous! You really captured those iced trees perfectly. Then there is the curve of the road to lead us into the picture.

I've often wanted photograph iced trees, but we were always in a hurry to go skiing, or the light was bad or something. Now I will be really reluctant to try it because I'm sure I couldn't do it so well.

The road leading to the horizon and boosting DOF at the same time, moreover the snow covered tress - it could not be better framed. Good light management as well, using the shadows to fill tbe void of no car or person in the pictures. Well done

Hello Tom,

We have been experiencing a lot of snow just recently so I have a feeling we may be posting similar subjects.
This is a great pov, using the curve of the road to interest and intrigue. The frosty, upright saplings give a strong vertical presence and create a strong contrast with the vivid blue of the sky.

Not enough for skiing but the snow changes the landscape entirely and makes some interesting photo opportunities!
The white naked branches stand well against the intense blue sky, and the variation between shade and light adds life to the scene...

Hello Tom! We did the Robert Frost trail in Ripton/VT, such a beautiful spot ... if you are ever in the Middleburry area, you should see it. Your photo shows another lovely country road, it sure looks icy, wonder if you make it without chains on your car ... Beautiful winter photo when nothing keeps you inside ... This one is a ripper. The curve of the road, the sun lighting up the right side and treetops, the delicate snow-covered branches against the polarised sky - you don't need anything more in this to convey the wonders of this bright winter day. The crop proportions are just right, with just enough vertical dominance. I like the quoted lines, too, from one of my favourite poets.
