Photographer's Note
Rotterdam, Kubuswoningen (case cubiche).
Rotterdam - Kubuswoningen (cube houses).
these are the famous cube houses by Dutch architect Piet Bloom; they have been an architectural landmark of Rotterdam since 1984.
The cubes are tilted 45 degrees, rest on hexagonal pylons and they are all connected to each other.
when looking at them from the street it seems strange that someone could live and walk around in such unconventionally shaped rooms, but I was inside one of them and I have to say it's way less weird once you're inside :)
in the WS the same cubes as seen from a frontal point of view

Ciao Cristina!
Decisamente le architetture aiutano il risultato, tu comunque hai trovato un'inquadratura bellissima che ne esalta ancora di pi la stravaganza creando un'immagine davvero originale e intrigante! Il bianco e nero razionalizza e pulisce la grafica!
Saluti e buona Domenica! Nino.

There are no limits for the human creativity.
I always like the wide angle or fish-eye captures of architectural designs from an angle below. This one stands out, IMHO.
I thought the b&w focuses us on the composition only, but after seeing a colored version on the workshop, I tend to believe the colored version could be interesting as well.
TFS this interesting aspect of Amsterdam !
Ciao.
Erdem
PS: I noticed there are a few lighter colored dots esepcially on the rightside of the sky. Are there clouds, sensor dust or retouches? :-)

Hi Cristina
It seems it's a puzzle and we have to find the right way to assemble all the parts together! Very amazing shot due to a very good POV, which is fooling our mind.
As usual, the B&W hues are remarkable.
have a good sunday!

Good Morning Critina,
A shot which makes the viewer scrutinise it with such care and such enjoyment, has to be remarkable!
I really like this.
It is even better for its use of b&w, for it helps to emphasise the positive and negative shapes, the lines and the angles.
Great observation and fine, sharp exposure.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Cristina,
Remarkable geometry captured here. I thought the interesting shapes might be a strange illusion of the POV until I saw the WS and realised that the houses really are very strange shapes. I like the b/w treatment and there is a nice range of tones and excellent sharpness. A good title.
Best wishes, Ann

Hi Cristina,
Almost 10 years ago I tried something there with a very small camera and the result was horrible, but I think I should try again with a better one... ;)
Yours is very good!
Crispiness and the use of B&W adds to the graphic effect. Just love it...

Inquadrata alla perfezione.
Mi chiedo se non hai un occhio sulla testa per vedere questo tipo di composizione.
Bel lavoro, veramente ottimo. Bravo ancora.

Hello Cristina,
Remarkable shapes. The clearness of your photo gives the surfaces and angles a very strong graphic effect. I had to do some googling and watch a YouTube movie to better understand what I was looking at. You found a very good place for this shot.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Cristina,
Excellent shot ! It is a very original graphical one. B&W choice is the good one I think because it makes us concentrate only on the shapes and it increases graphical atmosphere. Your theme "exercices de style" is full of great shots, great great work !

In questo genere come nelle street sei inarrivabile...e il tuo occhio pure cresciuto con il tempo vedo.
Bellissima in bianco e nero, sharp e contrasto al top e inquadratura di lusso!
