Photographer's Note
I was very shocked to see this secene along the appraoch to a shrine. Toaday I did shooting at the east of Tokyo area where is 100 km east from Tokyo, I heard that this area gets a little damage but not so serious. I, however, witness this secne. Garden lanterns at the left side are all collapsed by the earthquake. If you visit a Japanese shrine, you can see well arranged garden lantern along the both side. That is this at this area. A little dameged area is like this, how about is the serious damaged area----
--------------------------------------------
I will up the festival held at this shrine and special areas.

Hello! Very interesting scene when one thinks of how far this is from the are most affected by the quake. It give me an idea of how much work there is to be done to recover from the quake.
I have not been very active on here recently because my family has been my main concern. I'm glad to see though that you are still out and keeping us up to date on the beauty of your country.
Sincerely
Kate

hello, Takero,
Impressive documental photo. I am sorry. We are defenceless from nature even in 21 century, unfortunatelly.
I wish you all the best,
Sincerely Yours,
Serghei

hello Takero
A dramatic photo with a very good POV which illustrates well what damage has been caused. It looks as if it is still cold in northern Japan
Best wishes

Sad as it should be - the EQ aftermath is an overwhelming subject to take photos of, Takero.
Yu have an opportunity to show this aftermath.
The image show relatively light damage, that can be restored, furtunately.
Nice take from POV,
Ike

Hello
Like ordinary photo sediment columns in the alley, in the park. But this is after all a symbol of the tragedy that has struck your country. Once again, I would like to make a tribute to the fallen.
Yours
Joseph

Hello Takero,
At first sight this is a puzzling photo, but when reading your note I find it rather shocking. We have all seen the horrifying films of the tsunami and the pictures of destroyed houses, but this is another reminder of the terrible strength of nature from an area with just "a little damage". Still, as a picture it is well taken with a strong foreground and a long line of broken pieces along the curve of the road.
Wishing you all the best,
Gert

Hi Takero, What a great photo to show us from areas that have experienced no earthquakes, these beautiful stone lanterns laying like toppled dominos, I do hope they can & are restored to their forma glory, TFS, kind regards Wilson.

PLEASE DON'T IMAGINE THE REAL DAMAGED PLACES.
THEY MUST BE WORST THAN YOU IMAGINE.
CLEAR PHOTO AND WORDS NO NEED TO SAY ANYTHING FOR THIS WE SEE.
ENFORCE YOURSELF BECAUSE I THINK YOU - WE - HAVE A LOT ROAD AHEAD........UNFORTUNATELY
BE GOOD MY FRIEND
KEEP WALKING AND KEEP SHOTING

Hello Takero,
The components of the garden lanterns on this side of this side have been scattered willy-nilly, and we see the reassembled in the four four lanterns across the roadway. How much power this earthquake had, and how fragile is human life. You have chronicled the effect in a clean but sobering manner.
Warm regards, Takero,
Bulent

Dear Takero
Even outside Japan, we are still under shock because of the tragedy that is going on there!!!
Your picture shows very well the situation there, although this area was a little damaged!
My sympathy to all Japanese people!
Take care
Marilyn
