Photographer's Note
This is the Baroque Castle Wbbel in the very north-east of the federal state North Rhine-Westphalia. The castle is part of a beautiful ensemble composed of a church, an estate, a manor-house and a palace garden with wonderful old trees. The castle originally has been a moated castle. The moats have been filled up in 1850.
From 1584 to 1958 this ensemble belonged to the noble family von Donop which in 1690 built the here shown castle in place of a Renaissance building which was destroyed in the Thirty Years' War.
In workshop you can see the gateway in the outer bailey of the castle.

Hello Frank,
The building on the left provides a useful frame and has the benefit of directing the viewer's attention towards the main subject. The image has a pleasing overall tonal palette and good sharpness.
PS My pictures were taken last Sunday before the volcanic eruption.

Hello Frank, Beautiful palatial manor. You must have a thousand castles in Deutschland. Everyone posts castles and they are all different. This looks well maintained with typische Ordnung one finds in the German makeup. Very nicely done. TY again for seeing my Kirchen blooper. Have a good weekend. Roger

Hi Frank,
I just found out that you are leaving TE! I will send you a separate mail, but I just like to honour you "last" photo, which is, together with your interesting note, a very fine TE contribution. Better than most of photos on this site!
Kind regards

Hallo Frank,

Hi Frank,
The last photo on TE? It cannot be true. I think you are also TE-addict as I am. Not to think what photo to post, what will be the critics, what other friends will post? I simply cannot imagine this. It is now my daily routine. But not the photos here are the most important, one can see them in other sites, but the friendships behind them.
Many all friends are on Fotopedia and Facebook, there is some fun there, but it is not the same. I hope you will miss the site and change your decision.
Beautiful baroque castle in NRW. I haven't heard about it.
Warm regards

Hallo Frank,
This fine shot of the beautiful baroque Castle Wbbel together with its note is a good example of your excellent TE contributions, which we will be missing now, if you will not change your decision of leaving.
A perfect POV, a pleasant balanced composition, good natural colours, good depth and sharpness and last but not least the photo transmits a mostly cloudy early spring day in an attractive way.
A hope that you will return one day.
Warm greetings,
Lasse

Sad, Frank, that you abandon Trek Earth. But I understand you completely. You have learned a lot here and you have contributed even more. Your notes have always been first class and providing very interesting facts about your the subjects of your photos. Comments from you had a lot of meaning to many people here.
I will never forget you were the first to welcome me to TE, minutes after I posted my first picture.
Great loss for TE, what a shame.
But your friends will remain your friends.
Greetings from the forest.

hello Frank,
pity that you left, I just start to get my bearings on TE, and have not had enough time to write and visit all your beautiful gallery, hoping, as Branko, you change your mind,
What a beautiful composition of this Baroque castle, beautiful colors, great definition, excellent framing, we need to see good work like yours, it represents 50% of learning,
all the best,
Valerie.

Good morning Frank,
Very nice Baroque building. I like it here especially in the key of which is shown on the castle. It fits very well into the season. Young green and the pavement is decorated with very good fore frame. In the depths of a beautiful block of the Baroque castle from the period of the Thirty Years War. Unlikely that this picture was your last one in the TE. Please Frank, stay with us my friend.
Best wishes and I hope that you will still be telling us interesting stories from their region through their photos.

Good evening Frank,
Your photograph as all your photographs is of a great interest and very a good quality. I regret your departure and hopes to see you returning on TE. It reigns on TE, because of some too dedicated people, too intolerant and limited a deleterious climate, where a mood of d騁ente and shared pleasure should reign, it is madness. The censure in all its forms is a madness. Frank congratulations and thank you. so long.
Have a good evening
Cordially

Hallo Frank,
I have found out that you are going to leave TE.
Bad news, undoubtedly. I have read your note and I understand that you have reasons to leave this site, but for me and for many people on TE is very sad to lose a good friend, who has dedicated four years and a half of his life to share his great photographic work with us, establishing in addition a few big bows of friendship.
It will be hard not to see any more your photos nor read your always nice critiques.
I would like than you were reconsidering your decision, but I respect it.
Friends for life, Frank.
My best wishes,
Josep

Dear Frank,
I'm shocked to see you are leaving TE after all these years..!!
Hopefully you will reconsider at a later time when things calm down a bit, for who else shall give us the historical buildings and scenes from times gone by in Germany?
Like this one, perfectly reproduced in a balanced and attractive composition!

Hallo Frank.
Gru゚, Wolfgang.

Nice picture, Frank!!!
this is the third time I try to post a critique because TE answers that I only asket to see your photos, not allowed to write anything,
TE aim is advertising! We can use it if we agree with their main aim and not disturb anyway.
Well, I know where I will still see your beautiful pictures!!
Ciao from sunny Italy!

Hallo Frank,
Gutes Lichtmanagement and feine Pasteltne. Guter Photojob. Danke fr die Kritik meiner Monsunwolkenberge.
Herzliche Grsse aus dem heute nicht so sonnigen Alor Star.

I read your "new" profile. It's sad . But i understand. From times to times i come on trek and encounter the same probl鑪s...
The difference between french and german castle is that german castles look more like places to live in with his ( big) family.
Nice pictures and colors.
See you soon, I hope.
