Photographer's Note
My photo was taken some days ago during a hike. All the landscape here in southern Westphalia still was covered with about 30 - 40 cm of snow but temperature during the day already has been about +3ーC. Seeing this scenery one really couldn't imagine that this apple tree will bloom in about 3 months ...
Meanwhile, 4 days later, it seems that winter finally has lost its claws. Temperatures during the day are +8ーC and several times a day one can hear and see the cranes on their way northward. Here in Central Europe it really has been a severe winter - with two month of freeze and a lot of snow ...
In workshop you can see a wider view.

Nice winter minimalism. Maybe I prefer WS much better.
Regards my dear friend.

Hello Frank,
I like this kind of winter minimalist pictures. You succeeded well here with the anchor provided in the composition by the lonely tree.
I would have prefered to see more of the tree, but it seems there were some barriers behind the horizon looking to WS. So you finally selected the best composition. From my side, I prefer this main view to the WS.
Yves.

Hello Frank,
A minimalist composition, certainly but very effective and highly evocative of the hard winter you have been experiencing. The detail in the clouds are beautifully rendered and the solitary tree struggling through the snow is well placed. Greetings from a bright and showery Charente-Maritime.

Hello Frank,

This is very nice, Frank, the vertical frame division is just right, and this small and lonely tree is such a strong element... but maybe you could frame a bit to the right to have the tree decentralized... just like in the WS, which I must say I like more than the main version... but any way, a powerful view!
Cheers

Hi Frank,
This is an outstanding picture. It has to be a favorite! Such a sky and such a well composed "work of art". But I am a little surprised that the skiers of yesterday didnエt use this marvellous field.
Kind regards
Gunnar

Hallo Frank. Sehr schn. Gru゚, Wolfgang.

Hallo Frank,
(hahaha)

Good afternoon,
The way here is not exaggerated, Frank. Carries a photograph exactly as the title promises. It actually is minimalism, and in the winter and in the literal sense. I like action and so consistent, such literalism. This kept the good composition using thirds. You give up the centrality of the main character of this picture, namely the tree. I love the whole series of thoughts contained in this photograph. Frank, I wonder what you wanted to express this picture ...Fantastic and really minimalistic!
Have a nice day,
Jurek

Hello Frank, Your boredom with the weather is getting to you. This is an apple tree? Maybe a linden? Your picture is one of mood. The tree appears only partially, can one asssume the other part is snowed in? Hey, I am just kidding you. Good winter shot to remember when you are looking at this same view in July. BTW, I like the workshop picture better. We have been having some cool weather with rain here. 14 C in the morning and maybe 18 by late in the afternoon. I, too, am waiting for spring so that I can go take pictues of Spring in the Deseert. Regards, Roger

Hallo, my friend Frank,
You have obtained a pure minimalist effect in this beautiful image. The snow and the grey and cloudy sky give a monochromatic very interesting appearance, while the solitary tree is outlined strongly on the whole image.
A great graphism, my friend.
Excellent work.
Greetings from the soft (15コC) and windy Barcelona.

dear Frank,
an artistic view shot of the snowy hill and the winter sky,
the lone tree is nice accent point in this scene,
smooth white hill and motive big cloudy sky are making beautiful contrast of this season,
little parts of blue and pink are expressive,
thank you,
Akihisa

Hi Frank.
Truly a minimalist image depicting the winter mood. The sole tree along the horizon capped with the white snow is just stunning against some trace of colors in the sky. Beautiful land/sky division with tilted horizon for added impact.
Well done and TFS.
Best regards,
Jusni

Hallo Frank,
Sehr schn gelungen, danke

Bonjour Karl,

I am speechless, Frank. So much power and so much beauty in this picture. You are getting very GOOD.
It looks like even severe winter serves you well.
Thanks
Chris
PS. Workshop equally good but I agree with your choice of the main post.

Hallo Frank,
Wow, this is a fantastic shot! Great minimalism, expressive and artistic. The lonely small tree is a strong element. The cloudy sky adds dramatics to the view. I prefer the composition of this for that of the WS and the sky is more impressive here. Well done!
Greetings from Espoo, where thawing is finally in the forecasts,
