Photographer's Note

The Torre del Mangia is a tower in Siena, in the Tuscany region of Italy. Built in 1338-1348, it is located in the Piazza del Campo, Siena's premier square, adjacent to the Palazzo Pubblico (Town Hall).
When built it was one of the tallest secular towers in mediaeval Italy. At 88 m, it is now second only to Cremona's Torrazzo.
The name (meaning "Tower of the Eater") derives from its first guardian, Giovanni di Balduccio, nicknamed Mangiaguadagni for his tendency to spend all his money on food.

Hello Engin,
a fantastic selection of point of view gave this very interesting and authentic view of the tower. It describes the architecture of the Palazzo and it's imposing tower without moving a step from it. The framing of the tower within the cadre, the vivid colours and their contrasts as well as the addition of the thin cloud beside the tower make a fine and intriguing composition. Great photo!

What a fascinating name for this tower, I can empathise with its namesake, what better thing than to spend your money on food? :) Excellent Point of View, beautiful colours and details. The architecture is uniquely Tuscan. Just beautiful!

Good idea to create the frame within the frame. It works very well! The contrast between the blue sky & the red brick also adds contrast! Well composed & done shot!
