Neighboring communes

On the right (south-eastern) side of Danube and Iller there is the bavarian district town Neu-Ulm. On the left (north-western) side Ulm is almost completely surrounded by the Alb-Danube district. The neighboring communes of Baden-W�rttemberg are the following: Illerkirchberg, Staig, H�ttisheim, Erbach (Donau), Blaubeuren, Blaustein, Dornstadt, Beimerstetten and Langenau as well as the eastern neighboring community Elchingen.

Town subdivisions

The city is divided into 18 districts (German: Stadtteile): Ulm-Mitte, Bingen, Donaustetten, Donautal, Eggingen, Einsingen, Ermingen, Eselsberg, Gglingen, Grimmelfingen, Jungingen, Lehr, M臧ringen, Oststadt, Slingen (with Harthausen), Unterweiler, Weststadt, and Wiblingen.

Nine districts that were integrated during the latest municipality reform in the 1970s (Eggingen, Einsingen, Ermingen, Gglingen-Donaustetten, Jungingen, Lehr, M臧ringen und Unterweiler). They have own local councils which acquire an important consulting position to the whole city council concerning issues that are related to the prevailing districts. But at the end, final decisions can only be made by the city council of the entire city of Ulm.

Kalimera Danos,
This area in Germany is so close to France's Alsace region - thus, obviously places look very resemblance to sights we saw in Strasbourg or Colmar.
Canal with built homes along, lot's of vegetation decorating and typical wooden beams houses.
I guess this was taken from a bridge crossing the canal, good depth, clarity and light management, as always.

A very nice view of the narrow canal surrounded by beautiful buildings. The photo has good depth and nice colours. These balconies look cosy, but a drinking party on any of them could easily lead to unpleasant situations.

ο ανοιχτόχρωμος τοίχος στ' αριστερά φέρνει πολύ φως μέσα στο σκηνικό αλλά αναδεικνύει τις λεπτομέρειες και τα χρώματα που είναι κοντά του και ζωηρεύει την ατμόσφαιρα. Μου αρέσει πολύ το βάθος και οι υφές που πέτυχες, η "γυάλινη" επιφάνεια του νερού και τα μάλλον ψυχρά χρώματα με ορισμένες θερμές αντιθέσεις. Συγχαρητήρια και ευχαριστώ!

Magnificent composition with this beautiful canal, the old part of the city, ideals those two wooden terraces, which we see in the foreground, overhanging over the water, beautiful and facades and the added charm of the trees with the branches almost to the water .
