Life in the square, a photo from Pest, West

Photographer's Note

Dear Folks,
It's been a long time since I uploaded my last photo due to my studies. I have my GCE exams next week and I had to study a lot so that I didn't really have time for TE. But this week was a turning point in my life because I got my first DSLR camera, a Pentax K200D!
I went out to the town to test my new toy, but I only had time for some bluehour shot because it started to rain (see the heavy clouds in the sky).
This is the main square of my hometown, V當. On the left you can see the town hall.

M疵cius 15 t駻

The triangular "March 15th Square" (outbreak of the Hungarian revolution in 1848) was the center of the Baroque town and site of the market until it was redesigned in 1951. The surrounding Baroque and 18th century plait style houses create an idyllic ensemble. The square itself is somewhat sunken with ornamental paving stones, four Baroque sculptures and a fountain.

The town hall (No. 11), a Baroque building, was built in 1735-69 on the site of a Turkish bath. Above the handsomely shaped entrance is a pleasing wrought-iron grille and a group of figures. In the 18th century two medieval houses were joined together and underwent alteration to become the first bishop's palace (No. 6), which was converted into a monastery after the construction of the new bishop's residence and has accommodated an institute for deaf mutes since 1802, one of the oldest institutions of its kind. On both sides of the two-story building is a magnificent Baroque doorway. On the south side the M疵cius 15 t駻 is framed by the simple but not unpretentious fa軋de of the former Dominican church, now the parish church of the upper town. The fine Rococo interior of the church built between 1699 and 1745 takes the visitor by surprise.

Szia Marci,
Ah ah gone shopping, congratulations for getting this new camera, wish you plenty of fun with it, this blue hour view is well exposed but a bit confuse from a composition point of view could have been interesting to give more importance to this foreground light perspective. Good luck with the exams !

Hajra Marci, szoritok en is.

Vac a kepeiden nagyon hangulatos, ez a foto is a videki varoskak bukolikus bajat otvozi jovialis tisztes polgari jolet szembeotlo jeleivel: minden apolt, sima, tiszta, otthonos, tisztara "osztrakizu" :o).
Nagyon finom a kobaltkek eg, en nem latom a kozelgo virahfelhoket, sebaj.

Hi Marci,
I am glad to see another photo yours here. After your studies, you have obtained your target, already you have your Pentax K200, congratulations!!
And I see that your first tests with this camera already have allowed you to be more creative and to experiment with difficult captures, as this one.
I like the dynamism of the blurred people and the luminosity of this blue hour.
Beautiful perspective and elegant composition, in a great work.

Hi Marton, A lovely night shot & even better in the blue hour, in fact the colour through-out is excellent & not over powering, you have managed the light superbly & there is great architecture, I can't work out what the white corridor area is that runs in from the front, TFS, kind regards Wilson.
