Photographer's Note
The homing pigeons deriving from the Rock Pigeon are selectively bred to find its way home over extremely long distances. Flights as long as 1,800 km have been recorded by birds in competitive pigeon racing. I the photo you can see two breeders who transported about 200 pigeons at a distance about 100 km to train them in finding the way home. The pigeons just leave their cage. High in the sky, they briefly look for the direction toward to your home and take flight. Owners must return by car and they are often much later than the pigeons.

Hi R,
Taken at the good moment with all these flying pigeons, nice colors for the countryside maybe not enough sharpness, a detail.

Hi Ryszard,
A beautiful landscape view with attractive colours but also a very interesting scene with all these pigeons being released, animating the picture.
Kind regards

Witaj Ryszard,
My father-in-law was a great doves fancier, every week was this a pressure around the dovecot.
A pity but the man is dead.
Your picture shows perfect the discharge of the doves.
Nice depth and perspective picture too.
Composition and presentation are excellent.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John.

Hello Ryszard,
I like this photo showing the not so common sight of pigeons preparing to find their way home. It's an interesting and lively sight which of course dominates the view. But I olso like the many different colours of the vegetation in this area. The cloudy sky has created a mild and pleasant light.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Ryszard,
Thank you for sharing this photo of what most must consider a lost past time. In this day of mobile phones and instant communication via the internet there is something terribly poignant about homing pigeons and their journey. It made me smile that the birds beat the owners home :)
I like the way the birds form a graceful arc which sweeps the eye through the image and the shutter speed you have chosen allows for some movement of their wings conveying their movement in flight
Lovely capture

Hi Ryszard
Plenty of activity here and very good composition, what a contrast we have here as the birds really look they are going fast showing the feel of movement across but everything else is so still. I really like the colours in it and full depth of the landscape. Thks to your infor notes, Congrats
Best regards

Nature is so amazing...demonstrated by those homing pigeons. Nicely captured with plenty of actions as those birds starts their trip. Well done, tfs.
