Photographer's Note

I found a shaded arcade with a 'roof' of umbrellas opposite the post office. It hardly ever rains in Amman in summer months so they are more for decoration than preventing pedestrians getting wet.

Hello Chris,
As it never rain this time in the region, the only use for umbrellas is like parasoles.
Nice arrey of colors and fine clear view up, with the sky well lit from above.

Hello Chris,
I didn't see anything like this in Amman, but the umbrellas would do well to protect people from the sun. Beautiful colours with just one red breaking the very discreet pattern.

In Belgium can we every day use the umbrellas, we get almost everyday rain, also today.

I really like the repetition of the many umbrellas. Their soft colours look very nice and add a great contrast for the only fiercely red one. The subdued light is well captured too.

Hello Chris,

Besides shading pedestrians from the sunshine, they make a very pleasing photograph. Mary Poppins immediately came to mind as she floated into the air by way of an umbrella!
The one red umbrella makes a strong focal point amid the pastel shades.

Hello again, The umbrellas are probably there to give shade but mainly for decorations. I saw similar display in some places, also in Warsaw in cafe near my home. During rain they wouldn't give much protection I think. Wise of you to include also this red umbrella to give strong contrast.

These umbrellas are definitely not needed for rain, but gorgeous splendid sun. I like the way you composed the shot with the umbrellas seeming to hang in the air. The colours are great, especially considering you're shooting into the light. A delightful, graphical image.

Maybe they were meant as parasol instead of parapluie. Anyway they ordered an attractive variation of colors. And a big change for well observing photographer like you are.

questa scena � stata fotografata molte volte, per� mi piace molto la tua interpretazione, hai utilizzato un taglio verticale e un'inquadratura molto stretta, utilizzando al meglio la presenza dell'ombrello rosso.

Hello Chris,

This is an unusual and eye-catching image of the umbrellas creating a canopy. The colors are subdued, rather than garish as one usually sees them, e.g. in Las Vegas. I believe there is a good group theme on umbrellas somewhere on TE, where this would fit in very well. Warm regards, Chris,

I like very much this elegant and graphic composition, the vertical frame is covered entirely and at the same time looks so ethereal. The shapes are lovely and their repetition creates a very pleasing effect. I also like the strong pastel colours and the placement of the red umbrella.
