This picture taken during my daily bicycle trip

This photo was taken where an old farm used to be
Today a very beautiful building in the middle of the rural village of Den Hoorn - Sint Rita.
The agricultural land around decent buildings is bought up by other farmers to expand their own business
In the Middle Ages the village was situated on the sea, where the name "Den Hoorn" comes from a horn-shaped dune on which it lies.
The town suffered a lot during the Second World War, which several bunkers in the landscape still remember. In 1944, the bridges over the Leopold Canal and the Schipdonk Canal were blown up, separating the hamlet from the Moerkerke parish center.

Hallo John,
Wat een mooie heldere kleuren in dit aangename zonlicht. Ook de wolkenlucht zorgt voor een heel aantrekkelijke achtergrond. Het lage huis met zijn oranje daken en de hoge bomen in het midden zorgen voor een goed gebalanceerde compositie.

Hello John,
It is hard for me to estimate the age of this building, but it is very elegant and sophisticated and it has a fine location next to the large field. The weather looks nice and the light was good. The colours turned out beautifully.

Lepo zeleno polje, vila i drvece, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspektivom i dobrim tesktom.

Well composed using the rule of thirds and its hard to believe that such a peaceful area could have been the site of so much destruction in WWII. The diagonal plough lines still visible in the grass fg add dynamism. Tfs!

Hello John,

Beautiful and wonderful rural village. The sky and the brightness of the day were incredible. The blue sky with some clouds gave a good perspective for the photo. Another place full of stories, with a rich past and a lot already lived, some of these stories are not so pleasant, but preserving the stories of the past is of great importance.

beautiful photo. To be honest looking at the miniature it looked so empty but after opening the view, we can appreciate the lovely farm house and such a wide open space. Great light and resulting colors.
