Aveiro Center by night

Located on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean, Aveiro is an industrial city with an important seaport.

Aveiro is known in Portugal for its traditional sweets, the ovos-moles and the trouxas de ovos, both made from eggs. It is sometimes called "The Portuguese Venice", because of its canals and boats that remind one of the Italian city of Venice, as the city faced similar problems when it tried to conquer the water.

A ria is a landform, often known as a drowned valley or drowned river valley. Rias are almost always estuaries. Rias form where sea levels rise relative to the land either as a result of eustatic sea level change (where the global sea levels rise), or isostatic sea level change (where the land sinks).

When this happens valleys which were previously at sea level become submerged. The result is often a very large estuary at the mouth of a relatively insignificant river (or else sediments would quickly fill the ria). The Kingsbridge Estuary is an extreme example of a ria forming an estuary disproportionate to the size of its river; no significant river flows into it at all, only a number of small streams.

A well composed picture showing beautifully the interesting architecture of these buildings along the canal together with the typical boats.
The colour contrast between the golden brown buildings and the dark blue sky is very strong and stunning.

Filipe I saw this posting of yours a couple of days ago, and was very impressed, made a mental note to return to comment. Just finished watching the final Stanley cup playoffs. Hockey for this year is now over.
Very nice lighting in the blue hour and also excellent captured details on the buildings and calm reflections. This is a classic photo I am sure you are proud of. Excellent work.

esta toma a la hora azul es una maravilla, los contrastes entre el cielo, el agua y la iluminaci dorada de los edificios, con unos tonos c疝idos muy agradables, crean un espl駭dido efecto est騁ico sobre tu composici.
Y los reflejos son la guinda sobre el pastel, el agua tranquila parece un espejo donde vemos duplicada la belleza de la arquitectura y de las barcas.

This is absolutely superb night shot in the long exposure. Impressive compo and good depth with brilliant detail in warm light with good mix of artificial lights, Color is delicious color, sharp and contrast well against dark blue sky area. The water reflelction is stunningly beautiful. This is spledid shot in low light condition.

Hello Filipe
Either you have lot of "know how" for night shots (wich is more probable) or you used a compression software(HDR) for rendering such allover high fidelity in this spectacular view!
Never saw such elegance in Venice!

O my God!
This is so beautiful!
I cannot believe it is real.
Although after a while of looking at it I realize that the place itself is pretty indeed but it is your great work which made this view truly spectacular. You have captured it at the perfect blue hour time having fantastic dark blue sky, and you have selected great POV which allowed to make the best use of the reflection in the foreground.
The boats make a great contribution to the foreground as well.
Congratulations!
I see there are SO MANY places in Portugal which I would still like to visit.

The image above has an outstanding color and the clarity. I can understand why this part of your country is called "The Portuguese Venice". Even the boats on the canal resemble gondolas in Venice. I like very much the calm atmosphere of this photo. The reflection on the water is stunningly beautiful. The photo has been taken from a very good POV. And it has superb DOF. It is very nice to discover this area at the blue hour.
