Photographer's Note
This old Victorian mansion was built from the profits of Vinalhaven's granite mining which stopped with the invention of cement.
Today the island's economy centers around lobstering and wherever you go on the island you will find lobster bouys, traps and alot of rope.

Yes, the word lobster sounds much more edible than granite!
It is a nice view of that spectacular house. Just by curiosity, what is all that darkish stuff in the sky?

Hello Tom,
Intriguing and interesting composition. The vertical format is perfect to capture the splendour of the Victorian house with its central tower and the colourful tackle brings in another dimension. Very good colours and sharpness.

Hi Tom.
Interesting combination of nautical/fishing subject and impressive looking house. The red flotation thingies make a great combination with the blue sky. We just don't get houses like that here in Aust.

Hi Tom,
I remember these houses from San Francisco, but did not see them anywhere else int he US. Nice to see that they also stand on the east coast. For me as a European a daily seen building, for you it must be something very old and your image brings that also forward...very nice.

Hey, Tom,
I love those old Victorian style houses with all the gingerbread trim. Marvelous clear color, wonderful detail, beautifully composed with the house off center and the very colorful lobstering gear in the FG. Looks like it was a magnificent day, too. This is great! Many thanks and warmest wishes,

Hello Tom,
This is a pedagogical delight. The colorful and well composed image, augmented by a succinct, but informative note. The buoys serve as brilliant color highlight in the manner of chop marks on a vertical Chinese scroll. Moreover, it is a nice and fresh image, posted just two days after you shot it.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hi, Tom.
Unique composition, striking in terms of colors and atmosphere. I liked a lot this kind of architecture and that somewhat eerie touch that often seems to come with it. I guess, after all these years, Psycho is still playing games with my mind... Y'all have a great day, give them critters of yours a big hug from us. See ya soon,
Fulvio.

Hi Tom
Love the strong colours and the olde Victorian mansion. The sky looks very blotchy. Not sure what happened here.
