To celebrate 2015 festivities in Maldegem, this dancer was a part of the entertainment

This dance school has been in existence for 10 years and offers Irish and Scottish Highland dance lessons on a recreational level. Everyone will be catered for. With these dance disciplines you not only learn a few steps; A great deal of attention is also paid to the right technology, balance and rhythm. It is sports in which it is not purely about leg work; other muscle groups and your memory are also trained. In short, your condition benefits and it is fun too.
It is a dance discipline that is quite similar to ballet - including terminology. The performance, on the other hand, is a lot tighter than ballet, making it more of a "sport" today. Nevertheless, the dancers are expected to exude control and strength as well as a certain pride.

Hallo John,
Het kleurrijke kraampje links achteraan doet me een soort kermis vermoeden. Een lange rij stapt op straat voorbij waar hier vooraan een soort podium voor het dansen werd gemaakt.
De vier danseressen staan (of springen) mooi centraal in beeld terwijl aan beide zijden nog twee andere deelnemers wachten om in te springen.
Prachtige scherpe voorstelling van de dansgroep.

You have captured these dancers in perfect pose as they go through their routine and you have managed to capture them exceedingly sharply against a background in much softer focus.

Hi John, my TE neighbour today.

Dance as sport has been commonly used in the terminology of active life style for many generations. Irish jumping combined with Flemish discipline must form a great "marriage", I guess.

Very nice vivid colours and the faces of the performers tell the true feeling of spontaneity in this dance activity. TFS!!!

Hello John,

Irish dancing is very distinctive and very enjoyable to watch.
All the effort seems to come from the leg actions whilst the rest of the body is quite still.
My son married an Irish girl and we had an exhibition of Irish dancing at their wedding.

This is a very good photograph, the focus firmly on the dancers in the f/g. The figures are remarkably sharp considering that they are moving! There is lots of further information in the oof b/g, creating a sense of place but not distracting from the main activity.

The dancers make a nice and colourful group. Here the green and red are dancing together, while the blue and white are waiting on the sides. The brick building and the colourful shop front provide a good background. It's a pleasant and well exposed photo.

I like how in the far left bg, there are people not even paying attention to the dancers, its funny in a way :) your photo is super clear, bright, colourful, very sharp too. Its an excellent job you did here. fine out of focus blurring in the bg as well. cheers

Hello John, these demonstrations are so energetic, and this comes across in this shot.
The young women really look to be enjoying themselves.
An excellent composition, nicely balanced. Colourful too.
The background is slightly blurred, which sets the place without distracting.

lovely street scene!
I like in particular the colorful clothes of the dancers.
The costumes are very similar making a repeated motif here but with the variation of colors which makes it so eye catching.
Nice to see young and old both enjoying the Irish dance.
