Tamberma valley, a photo from Kara, North

Photographer's Note

In the North part of Togo and Benin there is a huge valley where the Tamberma people (in Togo) and the related Somba people (in Benin) live. Both people build big two storey buildings of clay called tata's.
There lives are practically unchanged since they started building these fortificated houses to protect themselves against the sklave trading kings of Abomey in the 17th century.

Tr鑚 joli paysage et excellente perspective. La disposition des arbres rend la photo tr駸 int駻essante de m麥e que les habitations au loin. Les animaux ajoutent aussi de l'int駻黎 � la sc鈩e. Bel 馗lairage et bon rendu des couleurs.

Hello Gerrit,
A fine capture of this landscape with its dry grass and sparse trees and shrubs, but which still evidently provides a living for its inhabitants. The cows are an interesting addition and bring a touch of vitality to the image.

une nature sauvage et aride sous des lumi鑽es douces mais une chaleur sans doute forte. Beaucoup de profondeur gr稍e � ces montagnes bien visibles � l'arri鑽e plan.
