Photographer's Note

A prayer wheel in the temple area of Jakar dzong, central Bhutan. Jakar dzong in Bumthang district is one of the largest of its kind in the country, and like the other dzongs it is a fortress-like building complex combining a monastery with the district administration. The state and the religion live closely intertwined lives in Bhutan, the world's only Buddhist kingdom. Jakar dzong was built in the 17th century.
