Photographer's Note

It was one cloudy afternoon at Tienanmen Square in Beijing. The tourist decided to sit down and look up something in the guide book and then, when the screens turned red to show the slogan, I noticed the correspondence between them and her shirt and the contrast between the two and the dull, gray surroundings. I just wish the backpack hadn't been there because it somewhat spoils the cleanliness of this frame for me.

BTW. I don't know what the slogan says, all I can recognize is the characters 中国人 meaning a Chinese person.

An excellent composition from a great perspective. The leading lines on the floor deepens and widens the scenery in both dimensions, while the matching colors of the shirt and the banner is a fine coincedence that enhances the visual quality of the composition. great shot with that slogan on the tiananmen square. The slogan says: The great chinese nation shall live forever. Weidade zhongguo renmin wan sui.

I like the POV. Yes, you're right the three red( orange) colour parts on the image made a very good balance( or POV, sorry, I'm not technical, I don't quite mind the backpack.. it tells me that she is ( A tourist.
The slogan says:" Long live the great Chinese people". They used to be:"Long live Chairman Mao." or "Long live the Chinese communist party.";-)
