Photographer's Note
These hanging temples are actually caves which are covered with a temple facade. The highest temple can be reached by a vertical tunnel between the lower temple and the higher one.
I am not sure how old the temples are, but Matisi (马蹄寺, Horse's hoof-temple) is on the ancient Silk road.

Hi Tonny,
Wow! I've never heard of this and its a pleasure to learn of it through your beautiful photo. The temples facades alone against these caves is a brilliant subject, but that tone of blue in the sky really perfectly contrasts with the orange of the rock into which the tunnels are carved. Very cool place and photo, thanks.

Hi Tonny
With so many temple sights to choose from, we decided to skip this one when we were (roughly) in the area. You just can't visit them all...
Then again this picture makes me doubt again. Maybe...maybe there's a next time...
