Photographer's Note

Shantang Jie is perhaps the most colourful canal in Suzhou, the Venice of the east. I noticed the crowd of people on the distant stone bridge snapping photos on their phones when I racked up the size for some pp work. It dates from 826 AD.

For a night shot, this is so warm and inviting! I think it is because of the artificial lights and their reflections in the water.
You have achieved good clarity, without a tripod, and your viewpoint creates an excellent sense of perspective, from the converging lines.

A lovely view down the water here with some busy boat traffic. The many lanterns and other illuminations on the houses on either side are very appealing as well and create a wonderful mood. Excellent and sharp shot.

Hello Chris, In Suzhou, I was interested mainly in the Chinese gardens and I didn't see many canals. fantastic night shot. I like all these lanterns on both sides and many boats.
