Along the Li, a photo from Guangxi, South

Photographer's Note

A picture taken by the Li river in Guangxi province, somewhere near the town of Yangshuo, in early October 1986. The weather was cloudy and hazy every day, so the steep rocks that have made this area famous were always partly hidden.
Scanned from a Kodachrome slide.

This is a favored place for me and you managed to get a great reflection from the water. If we could only find the right spot to avoid some of man's structures it would be nice. I have several slides, I should try and scan them. Does it require special tools to make the image with light enough to work?

hej Gert,
did you know that Yangshou means male rock, and you don't need a lot of imagination to get that one.
as I said before, china seems to be more of the hidden mountains foggy rivers land, then the one of the rising sun as I learnt at school. An other fine image from you.

I will be visiting this place for the second time later this month, Can't wait, This time, a better camera and better photogrpaher :)

This is really wonderful for a scan image, yes, the noise level is high, but that gives it that vintage and essence of old. I enjoyed it very much. Thanks.

Hello Gert,

You're capturing well this landscape by a good composition, so it's interesting and impressive to see a lot of steep rocks with unique shape. It's impressive in surrounding greenery, too. And, the reflection projected to the rive draws out an additional good effect.

it is a pity you got a bad weather while in the area. I imagine this pov would be much more impressive with a clean air. anyway, even under such conditions you image is very beautiful and the place is amazing. TFS.
